Very funny, but according to the almighty Google the Romans already did and in the modern times it was Englishman William Willet who came up first with the idea of summertime and lobbied for years for it.

Well THEY say that it lengthens a day for you, but children are grumpy for 2 weeks after that, I hate it, because I never know what the real time is, because one device changes it itself, another device I set myself, turns out to do it again so the difference than yesterday is two hours, and clocks don't change themselves, so after that crappy day, I have 3 different times to look at... COMPLETE NONSENSE.
