Re: 1/18 Maisto Ford GT90 rebuild and improve WIP
Update 10 April 2017
Today I finished the model. Lots of trouble during assembly, so took more time than I anticipated.
Sanding and polishing the body.
Difference between polished and unpolished:
Unfortunately I found some dust and ofcourse I went through the pearl layer on the nose. So it needed a respray:
Inserted the doorsill mesh. No idea what's for but the real car has it.
New headlights:
Tail end ready, Alas triple mesh blocks most of the inner parts I built.
Front with emblem.
The "marriage"
Last bits glued and presto!
The famous car wide reflector:
Spoiler flips up easily and locks with magnets
Spoiler retracted:
I'll try tomorrow to make a video and shoot a few quality pics with my DSLR to officially finish this thread.

OMG, wow!
I have a red Ricko Vector. I cannot wait to see what you do. I hope to maybe replicate what you do to the Vector, so PLEASE do a detailed account like you did here!
This thread will be of interest to you when you start the vector.

Thank you everyone for the compliments. The GT90 was a real gem to rebuild and glad you like the result.
@jim010 thanks for the link. Sad it does not seem to be finished, this guy has superior building skills. Love to see the end result.

Phenomenal work! Was really looking forward to seeing the finished product, and this is top-notch. You really did justice to my favorite concept car. Bravo!
If one day you decide to build for customers, I'll send you my GT90

Thanks for the compliments, glad you like it. It's an amazing car with an insane amount of details. To my surprise even more than the Zonda. When I have completed my bucketlist I intend to start building models for customers, but not sure about this GT90. The amount of work is astonishing, esspecially on the interior and the dome. I expected this to be a quick build, but until now it is the project with the largest amount of manhours.protzenegger wrote:Phenomenal work! Also updated this thread with new photo links. Maybe not as flashy as a Pagani, but I still adore this model.
