Amazing. Do you paint the cars to match like that?

Guestroom Displays

So this is just a brief glimpse at room #2 that serves many purposes....its a guestroom and a hobby room as well. I got it cleaned up and finished the lighting in the cabinetry. This room has all my Lamborghini, Ferrari, Bentley, Audi, VW, and Bugatti models. The murphey bed is actually my own design....and supplemented the frame with discounted ikea cabinetry. Opposite the bed is are two different size Billy cabinets for cars.

Update feb/mar 2019

My latest editions.

Porsche
GTSpirit – Porsche 993-911 GT.
The only change made here was to the wheel track on the model. I have yet to take it apart but may make a few updates to the interior.

Minichamps– Porsche 993-992 Carerra 4s coupe.

First off, I know this is apparently a model many have voiced dislike for, due to the fact that nothing opens and the idea of a sealed diecast is just wrong. I wont disagree completely with parts of that statement but I’m honesty perfectly fine with the model (after my updates). Out of the box (beyond the fact that nothing opens) what this model most suffered from was a truly poor paint finish. I am not referring to the gloss or luster….those aspects actually looked decent. That said, what the paint suffers from is paint that is simply too thick. As you will see from my before and after pictures, the body alignment lines are actually VERY crisp and fairly deep (the only area I did score before the new paint went on was the area where the front fenders and hood meet the front bumper). Beyond the terrible paint though, I love that this model has the optional glass sunroof, the choice of wheels (they look spectacular) and after some added details, the interior looks pretty damned good.

PS - i found a great paint company that can color match just about any factory color. This model is the first I've done with their lacquer and clear coat....and I can say that it is one of the best lines of paint i've ever used and the paintjob turned out amazing. So the 992 is done in true Arena Red Metallic, which is my favorite Porsche color.

Bentley

Kyosho – Mulsanne
I swapped out the tires and lowered the suspension slightly.

Minichamps – Flying Spur
As with the Flying Spur, I only changed out the tires and modded the suspension

Audi
Otto -Audi RS2 Avant
I have always wanted this model…..but buying an original release was just far too expensive In my opinion. So I was stoked when this came out but not excited about the color choice. The black paint looked killer (well executed in my opinion) but just made for a plain/boring look to me. I was originally going with silver but at the 11th hour, I stumbled across pictures of the real car in Pearl White and I fell in love. The end result is in the pictures below.

paint on the porsche was atrocious.....it absolutely pops with decent paint. its a real shame because the paint they chose is a very cool color (not actually white-it's chalk/fashion grey according to porsche). Anyhow, I think the 992 looks better in a vibrant color.

Great job on the RS 2 Avant. I have always thought they look best in blue with the red brake calipers combo but not anymore! :okay:

Thanks!!! Audis of that era always looked great in Pearl White. I want the re-release of the Otto S2 coupe and plan to paint it the same color.
