Time for the next update. The Bugatti EB110 is one of those cars that takes some time the start appreciating it. Suddenly you like it and need one. Happened to me last week, so I ordered one in Bugatti blue. I regret not buying this sooner, as it is a very, very nice model. There is not one point that AUTOart could have done better in my opinion.

A car that still wasn't present at my collection was a McLaren P1. I bought one last week, but the choice in color wasn't very easy. I like the P1 in a dark color, just because from the 3 hybrid supercars (P1, LaFerrari, 918) I always thought it was the most 'sinister' looking, and a dark color fits that in my opinion. But.... The black AUTOart is satin, and not gloss. And that is what made me hesitate. But after looking at pictures for a year or so :shame: , I somehow started liking it. It arrived yesterday, and I'm happy I bought it.

It makes the hypercar trinity in my collection complete now :D It's a nice model, the satin paint work is superb. The engine is horrible, but that's known by everyone here

Every year I add one Formula 1 model from Max Verstappen. Last year I pre-ordered the Spark Red Bull RB14 from the Austrian Grand Prix, which he won. I picked it up yesterday. Happy that I ordered the Spark, and not the Minichamps. Had them side by side yesterday and while the Minichamps is 40 euro's more, the Spark is the better model.

Nice addition. Minichamps today is a joke. They should close the doors!

I was shocked by the difference between Spark and Minichamps.

Some of the things we saw:
Sticker instead of the small rain lights you see on the Spark
Exhaust of cheap plastic with casting edges, on the Spark it's nice metal tubes
Missing decals
Fault in the helmet design
No openings in the front wing
A lot of missing details on the bargeboard area
Spark has nice photo-edged belt clips
And than things like the antenna's on the front are a lot more realistic on the Spark.

It is indeed a joke.

Spark is known to make some solid race cars. I personally would always lean towards them.

Fantastic Max models. I see the Jos Minardi there too. Really like the Minardi liveries back then. Your diorama with the EB110 is awesome too (nice pics).

Latest addition is an old school AUTOart. From the time, when a decent model didn't cost 3 figures. It's the Lancia Fulvia Rallye 1,6 HF.

Nice detail inside and out. AUOTart's motors and interiors are not as refined today IMHO.

The front end of that car is fantastic. Do the mechanics have names?

I guess I can give them names :P

Next model to be photographed is not a new purchase, but a model I have in the collection for approximately 20 years. It's the UT models Mercedes C36 AMG.

It has been on display non-stop, and only the last couple of years behind glass, so it was ready for a proper clean. Also (common UT models issue) the paint on the wheel started reacting with the rubber tyres. It was completely disassembled and cleaned and the wheels got resprayed. I choose to make the centre of the wheels black, it was a bit of a gamble, but I think it works.

I have this one too, same colour. You made me pull it out the display to check the wheels. Thankfully no issues! Paid a whopping $62 2011 LOL.

:shame:

I have no idea what triggers the UT wheel paint issue. Some models have it, some don't. Also my porsche 996 cabriolet and BMW M3 have (or had..) this problem. But all my other UT models are absolutely fine. Very weird.
