CMC Ferrari D50 (Long nose) #1 JM Fangio, German GP 1956

Post by Atalante » Mon Oct 15, 2018 9:51 pm

Not a very recent addition but I wanted to show you this CMC Ferrari D50 (Long nose) #1 Juan Manuel Fangio, Winner of the German Grand Prix in 1956.

Certainly not the best CMC but a really worthy addition to my Ferrari collection especially since it was driven to victory by Fangio.

Note that the long nose was in fact an addition to the standard D50. CMC should have done it that way or at least make the effort of adding screws as can be seen on historic pictures. Still a great model. Enjoy!

Cmc is incredibly lazy with their research (or cost saving?). Which is weird because it looks like they're really into this stuff

I think it is a matter of cost saving because they actually asked collectors on their FB page and they received several documented answers. I imagine CMC staff going through a list of collector recommendations during a kick-off meeting and turning down anything too costly to implement.

A lot of models had accuracy issues. This was brought up by many collectors, until they finally enrolled one of them to point out inaccuracies.
