I want to get a family member a 1:18 Porsche. We do not really have many models.
I want to spend $150 ish.
I’ve looked for hours on a few diff sites. Solido looks cool lots of cheap options.
But it seems like it here may be better detail at a higher price point?
I want to get him a 964 Porsche with the spoiler.
Black or a cool color. I’ve looked at GTfare but noticed not a ton of detail and they are sealed
He got me a Mustang from GMP and I’m super happy w the detail. GMP didn’t make Porsche.
Any recommendation ?
I’d rather get one $150-180 model than 2-3 cheaper solido did it’s worth it’s
Porsche 1:18 recommendation for bday present
Re: Porsche 1:18 recommendation for bday present
Welcome.
Solido is definitely the opening price point with their cheap and cheerful models... Look into GT Spirit, they are sealed but offer better refinement outside and in. Also, this might be a long shot, check eBay for old manufacturer UT Models. They created some awesome stuff back in the day and I'm sure the 964 platform was touched. Good luck!

I would say that the best option for a 964 with opening parts that you can currently buy for around $100-150 and in many colors is the Norev 964 Carrera, but they don't have a spoiler on them.
Otherwise, as mentioned by Kraftig, you're looking at GT Spirit sealed models (great but may be expensive) or Solido for cheapish models which have opening doors only. Both of these brands offer(ed) 964 in various trims and colors with spoilers such as the Carrera RS 3.8 and Turbo models.

Yes, missed these. I would focus on Norev. Check stock with site sponsorsI would say that the best option for a 964 with opening parts that you can currently buy for around $100-150 and in many colors is the Norev 964 Carrera, but they don't have a spoiler on them.

Norev's 964 is the best one out there & closest to GMP in detail/quality. They don't make one with a spoiler, unfortunately. There is also the 964 RS by AutoArt which has the moveable rear spoiler, but those are out of production & way above your print point, if you find one on Ebay. For a Turbo, you'd have to go cheaper (Solido, Welly) or sealed (GT-Spirit)
I think the Solido Turbo or RS 3.8 (also available sealed by GT Spirit) are fantastic choices.
left to right...Norev 964 Carrera, GT Spirit 964 Carrera 4 Widebody, Solido 964 Turbo 3.6, GT Spirit Carrera RS 3.8
