1) What first got you collecting diecast? How long have you been collecting? What is your total model count as of today?
A great passion for cars since I was a child. The real collection dates back to about 40 years ago and I own about 3500 models.
2) What was your first diecast or memory?
I don’t remember exactly, but I think it was a 1:43 Lancia Fulvia by Mebetoys.
3) What is your favourite scale, and why?
Actually, there are two, 1:18 and 1:43. But most are on the smaller scale of the two listed. My passion is equally split between the two!
4) What are some of your favourite models to date? Did you share any photos with us?
I would say the cars, strictly racing, that have made Italy great in the world, from Lancia to Ferrari, passing through Alfa Romeo and Fiat. The main themes are Le Mans and rally.
5) Is there a model that has eluded you, a holy grail of sorts?
Exoto’s 1:18 Jaguar XJR9 that won Le Mans in 1988. One day, one day!
6) What is your favourite brand/manufacturer, and why?
Nowadays, I say Spark, for its wide range of themes that I collect. And as you can see on lean of the race side of replicas.
7) Describe your current theme and what your overall goal is?
Hard to say, but, as written before, follow as much as possible Le Mans and rally from the 60’s onwards, with some pieces from previous years, for example, the 1933 Alfa Romeo 8c.
8) Do you display your collection? If yes, how?
Almost all are displayed in various display cases/windows. I will try to forward more photos of the collection on display.
9) Do you have any other hobbies, passions or addictions?
I often follow car races, WEC, Fanatec GT, historic races, rallies, etc. In turn, I love taking photos.
10) What do you think about the diecast hobby as it stands today?
Nice, I often follow the site, perhaps it should be improved with more photos of the various salons with the various new products coming out in the future.
11) If you could change one thing about the diecast hobby what would that be?
I would like to see more unreleased models, even if I understand that for the various model brands, it is not easy with all that is behind it, starting from the various royalties requested.
12) Do you modify cars? If yes, what are some examples?
No.
13) What does your spouse, partner or significant other think of your hobby and your collection?
Nothing to say about it, it’s my collection/hobby and I have to like it, then say what you want.
14) What is your daily driver?
The current daily is the Hyundai i30.
