1) What first got you collecting diecast? How long have you been collecting? What is your total model count as of today?
My passion for collecting diecast cars is a long-standing one. I have been collecting since 1998, and have about 300 models to date.
2) What was your first diecast or memory?
Nothing specific rings a bell, but the initial purchase in 1998. Which, for some reason, I cannot remember the specific model, LOL.
3) What is your favourite scale, and why?
3) What is your favourite scale, and why?
I’m leaning on 1:18 and 1:43 scales. They both offer a lengthy assortment, and the variety in 1:43 scale remains unmatched to this day…
4) What are some of your favourite models to date? Did you share any photos with us?
As the photos will illustrate, the Pagani is my favourite marque and topic. The collection is primarily focused on the brand. The short history has proven them well!
5) Is there a model that has eluded you, a holy grail of sorts?
An easy question to answer. 100%, the BBBR Pagani Zonda F with Beige interior side resonates with me the most. Such a lovely piece!
6) What is your favourite brand/manufacturer, and why?
There are a handful of brands that I gravitate to the most. These include AUTOart, Almost Real, LCD Models, Exoto, CMC and Martisan – the latter offering the greatest details with their recently released Ferrari 250 GTO model, with incredible engine movement.
7) Describe your current theme and what your overall goal is?
As stated earlier, to amass the largest collection of the Pagani models and complete the Pagani series of the C12 and Utopia.
8) Do you display your collection? If yes, how?
Yes, I do! Each piece is carefully displayed in sealed cabinets.
9) Do you have any other hobbies, passions or addictions?
Outside of scale models, I do have a passion for radio-controlled models.
10) What do you think about the diecast hobby as it stands today?
It’s not 100% positive. With the ever-demanding price points, the hobby continues to drive away the young and upcoming collectors, truly a shame.
11) If you could change one thing about the diecast hobby what would that be?
I’m a huge fan of going outside the box of scale models in general. Adding more options for adding turn light signals, interior lighting and rear brake lights would be something I will invest in.
12) Do you modify cars? If yes, what are some examples?
On the odd occasion, I may attempt a small modification. Some things I have actioned in the past are full exterior colour change and aftermarket wheel updates.
13) What does your spouse, partner or significant other think of your hobby and your collection?
In one word, she totally RESPECTS my position with the hobby and helps fuel my passion.
14) What is your daily driver?
Toyota Land Cruiser.
