1) What first got you collecting diecast? How long have you been collecting? What is your total model count as of today?

Been a collector since I was in my teens, 35 years ago, started with the Ferrari from Bburago, then it expanded… it was always a special day with my father to go on the hunt for models… We started buying more quality stuff, I even worked in a diecast store!  And then, I got kids! So mostly stopped collecting for 10 years, even if  I was really into the hobby… Got divorced, changed house and decided to have a small space for my collection. I used to have 350 cars all in 1:18, but some hard times, I had to sell quite a few, and I’m now down to 215 cars..

2) What was your first diecast or memory?

A Revell Ferrari mythos in red.

3) What is your favourite scale, and why?

1:18 for the details and price (still believe it’s an investment) even if I’m not selling anymore!

4) What are some of your favourite models to date? Did you share any photos with us?

I have a sweet spot for the 356 Speedster in silver by Kyosho. I had this one as a Christmas present and was not expecting it since at the time it was 3 times the price of the models I was collecting, it still holds a part in my heart! Even drove a real one last summer.

5) Is there a model that has eluded you, a holy grail of sorts?

It was a Bentley Blower 1930 from Minichamps, and I was lucky to find one recently, new in the box! I really had an emotion when it finally came home with me! Beautiful model!

6) What is your favourite brand/manufacturer, and why?

I love CMC, their quality and subject are incredibly good, and these are mostly art pieces! I almost have all the first runs.

7) Describe your current theme and what your overall goal is?

Mostly Europeans, Porsche, Mercedes and the British stuff…   Not much into those hypercars, I like the classics!

8) Do you display your collection? If yes, how?

Yes!  Everything is on display!

9) Do you have any other hobbies, passions or addictions?

Yes, I do, books (cars and cooking).

10) What do you think about the diecast hobby as it stands today?

Great time, a lot of new makers, the resin is expanding, and they pick more obscure. Budget friendly, as some nice offerings and high-end are always expensive but worth it! Always interested in what’s coming soon!

11) If you could change one thing about the diecast hobby what would that be?

Some collectors try to cash in too much, and prices are going too high for some models.

12) Do you modify cars? If yes, what are some examples?

No.

13) What does your spouse, partner or significant other think of your hobby and your collection?

She accepts it as long as everything else is paid! She also knows not to clean them!

14) What is your daily driver?

A classic Honda Civic 2008, the infamous model with the exposed paint patina… Nothing too exceptional.
