1) What first got you collecting diecast? How long have you been collecting? What is your total model count as of today?

The passion for real cars got me into my collection.  I think there is no better way than have a diecast of a car you like.  Pictures and videos are great but having a little piece of it is even better.  I started with scale 18 in 2007.  I have about 250 models in my collection.  I don´t count them that often actually.

2) What was your first diecast or memory?

After my 1:87 and 1:43 times, I would consider my first real 1:18 diecast to be the Lamborghini Diablo VT by AUTOart.

3) What is your favourite scale, and why?

Its 1:18.  I have a little journey (1:87, 1:43 and now 1:18), but I think 1:18 is the final stage.  Why?  You have a great variety, this scale offers great details, when photographed correctly the frontier between diecast and real cars fades away, and finally they really have an effect like you are watching the real car.

4) What are some of your favourite models to date? Did you share any photos with us?

I guess I have not shared any photos with you yet.  The 40th Annivesary Murcielago and the Veyron Pur Sang are one of my favorite models.   I also adore the details of the Zonda R. All models by AUTOart.  I´m also very happy about my Ice Blue M5 E39 by OttOmobile.  I love the real car and we had to wait very long for it to arrive in scale 18.

5) Is there a model that has eluded you, a holy grail of sorts?

The Pur Sang has an amazing “paint shop” and “craftsmanship”.  I would call it my holy grail.

6) What is your favourite brand/manufacture, and why?

AUTOart.  They offer great details and also have a big variety.  I’m also a great customer support and very friendly at fairs Tecno Classica for example.

7) Describe your current theme and what your overall goal is?

My collection covers all kinds of cars. In general street and supercars but I also have some normal ones like a Mercedes Benz 190 Evo II or Toyota Trueno. If I like the real car, chances are not slim I buy the scale 18 model of it.  I don´t have a goal.  My collection is run by passion and my passion is still very big :)

8) Do you display your collection? If yes, how?

Yes, in two big cabinets (see photos).

9) Do you have any other hobbies, passions or addictions?

Cars, Cars, Cars :)  I also like video games and of course my favorite genre is “racing games”.  If I can´t drive a Aventador in reality, at least I can drive that one
in games like Forza Motorsport 5 and If I crash I won´t have to worry about being bankrupt afterwards.

10) What do you think about the diecast hobby as it stands today?

Well, if you love cars, its a great chapter to show it.  This hobby also connects and does not care where are you from or how much income you have.  It kinda united people and make life more fun.

11) If you could change one thing about the diecast hobby what would that be?

I would love to have a perfect quality control for all manufacturers. I know its impossible but if there is one aspect I don´t like about my hobby then its bad quality control and having to return models and all the stuff.

12) Do you modify cars? If yes, what are some examples?

Nope, I´m just a collector.  I’m too lazy and probably not that well talented to modify them.

13) What is your 1:1 daily driver?

I had cars from Seat and Fiat.  At the moment I don´t have a real car because I don´t need one anymore.
