1) What first got you collecting diecast? How long have you been collecting? What is your total model count as of today?
I’ve always been really into cars since I was young. When I was around 10 my dad got me a 1:18 Maisto Hummer H2 for Christmas. I loved playing with it, but eventually broke it. When I got older I decided I wanted to participate in the hobby more maturely. Start that journey with a Maisto Murcielago Roaster from Costco and have been collecting ever since!
2) What was your first diecast or memory?
Diecast! Maisto Lamborghini Murcielago Roadster.
3) What is your favourite scale, and why?
1:18. I love the details on a larger scale model and not having to break the bank building a collection.
4) What are some of your favourite models to date? Did you share any photos with us?
It’s got to be the Almost Real+ Pagani Zonda F last year. I’ve loved the Zonda since I first saw Jeremey Clarkson drive it on Top Gear.
5) Is there a model that has eluded you, a holy grail of sorts?
No. Response in Question 4. Thankfully I have my holy grail!
6) What is your favourite brand/manufacturer, and why?
It’s probably AUTOart due to their quality vs the price. At times you can find some awesome bargains for their models.
7) Describe your current theme and what your overall goal is?
Quite simply, my current theme is just to get the cars I like as a way of owning cool cars without paying exorbitant prices for real cars.
8) Do you display your collection? If yes, how?
So many bookshelves are utilized at the moment.
9) Do you have any other hobbies, passions or addictions?
Automobiles in general, planes, and computers.
10) What do you think about the diecast hobby as it stands today?
It’s kind of difficult to participate in the hobby without going broke from all the costs of acquiring all the models. So, pacing purchases with overall model priorities can something be a challenge!
11) If you could change one thing about the diecast hobby what would that be?
Sorry, I can’t truly offer any suggestions at this time.
12) Do you modify cars? If yes, what are some examples?
Absolutely not! I’m scared of breaking them. LOL!
13) What does your spouse, partner or significant other think of your hobby and your collection?
My spouse has been very supportive of my hobby. We each have monthly hobby budgets to help us stay in check.
14) What is your daily driver?
2003 Mitsubishi Pajero SWB RHD (JDM in North America).
Cool collection! Thanks for sharing.
A lot of lovely cars there. And you did a great job on the presentation, thanks!
