1) What first got you collecting diecast? How long have you been collecting? What is your total model count as of today?
I have been collecting for 26 years now, 1:43 since 8 years, and now have over 280 model cars. When I was very young, I was given a model car, which I destroyed while playing. I couldn’t estimate the value at all. Some years later, I remembered that and wanted to start that again, with some Bburago 1:18 Ferraris.
2) What was your first diecast or memory?
A Bburago 1:18 Ferrari 250 Testa Rossa.
3) What is your favourite scale, and why?
1:43. There you have a great compromise between space-saving size, still good recognizable details, large variety/availability and price!
4) What are some of your favourite models to date? Did you share any photos with us?
There are a number; here are some: Rolls-Royce Phantom I Jonckheere Coupe Personal Car Raja Nanpara from TSM, Fiat 642 Bartoletti Ferrari Transporter from Exoto, Koenigsegg One:1 from Fronti-Art, Aston Martin DB4 GT Zagato from DMH, Buick Riviera GS from NEO and Land Rover 90 Camel Trophy Borneo Dirty Version from Almost Real.
5) Is there a model that has eluded you, a holy grail of sorts?
Yes! Here are some of them. BoS Isdera 112i Commendatore, Spark Plymouth Superbird 426 1970 and the NEO Pontiac GTO Hard-Top 1966 and by far too expensive nowadays and very hard to find.
6) What is your favourite brand/manufacturer, and why?
Spark, TSM, HPI, NEO, Looksmart, Matrix… great details in all of them, most of them are resin, not diecast, which makes them even more realistic.
7) Describe your current theme and what your overall goal is?
I collect a huge variety of model cars, I really like the design of those that, in my opinion, are very important in history. Still, the collection is growing, and some cars need to be updated (getting better and more detailed versions of them)
8) Do you display your collection? If yes, how?
Yes, in the bedroom on a wall above our bed in display cases behind a curtain, so my wife won’t see them directly.
9) Do you have any other hobbies, passions or addictions?
My little son and daughter, family, maybe if time allows, basketball and volleyball.
10) What do you think about the diecast hobby as it stands today?
For sure, it is a luxury hobby and unnecessary. The model prices are rising and rising (luckily not too much for 1:43 compared to 1:18). And it is getting harder and harder if you start from the beginning, especially if you want to have all the sold-out ones. The best option may be inheritance.
11) If you could change one thing about the diecast hobby what would that be?
Getting all the sold-out models back and the commission not yet produced ones from my wish list.
12) Do you modify cars? If yes, what are some examples?
No.
13) What does your spouse, partner or significant other think of your hobby and your collection?
She only wonders about the many packages arriving; she has no interest in them but accepts them, which is fully sufficient for me.
14) What is your daily driver?
Skoda Scala Monte Carlo.

Nice love it
