1) What first got you collecting diecast? How long have you been collecting? What is your total model count as of today?

My early love for cars was heavily influenced by the video game Gran Turismo, after that, I read a lot of information through books and other articles. All of that has had a great influence on the selection of my diecast collection line up plus I really like photography and really enjoy diecast photography.  I started collecting diecasts in the sixth grade of elementary school, the first model I owned was a Dodge Viper 1:18 by Maisto.  Unfortunately, I had a vacuum period and started again in 2014.  So far I have a total of 148 1:18 scale diecasts, 120 1:43 scale diecasts, and hundreds of 1:64 scale diecasts.

2) What was your first diecast or memory?

My first diecast after the hiatus period was the AUTOart BMW 635 CSi Spa 1996.

3) What is your favourite scale, and why?

1:18, because I like the details and the perfect objects to shoot and make them look realistic.

4) What are some of your favourite models to date? Did you share any photos with us?

There are so many diecasts that I like in my collection, but one from the last purchase I really like is the Almost Real Pagani Zonda F 1:18. And of course Exoto Sauber C9, it just blew my mind with that detail, especially in the engine.

5) Is there a model that has eluded you, a holy grail of sorts?

I’m still looking for Spark 1:18 Aston Martin Vantage GTE Pro 24h Le Mans 2015 Turner, Mucke and Bell, this is my top priority on the search list. And another Exoto with a reasonable price.

6) What is your favourite brand/manufacturer, and why?

Almost Real is very surprising these days, for a good price, you get good quality too!  But all in all, I really like Exoto, the details are really really astonishing!!

7) Describe your current theme and what your overall goal is?

In 1:18 I have several themes such as Dakar Winner, Pikes Peak Hill Climb Winner, Le Mans GTE PRO Winner, etc.  For 1:43 my current lineup includes an array of Monte Carlo winners (1960-now).

8) Do you display your collection? If yes, how?

Yes, but not all of them, I have a display cabinet, and 1 diorama.  This houses much of my collection today.

9) Do you have any other hobbies, passions or addictions?

Photography and I also do coverage for one of the digital media outlets in my country.

10) What do you think about the diecast hobby as it stands today?

Many choices are offered by manufacturers. but we must choose wisely because the price is sometimes quite an expense and the quality offered is not comparable.  What I like about this hobby, every collector has a different taste so the collection becomes very unique.

11) If you could change one thing about the diecast hobby what would that be?

The price offered is in accordance with the quality provided, and is not overpriced.  More opening diecast than closed diecast.  PLEASE!

12) Do you modify cars? If yes, what are some examples?

Yes, Solido Alfa Romeo GTV6 is one.  I  updated the wheels and changed the colour, and repaint the interior.  There is also the TopSpeed Aston Martin Zagato Speedster and KK Scale Porsche 930 Turbo.  I did updates to both of these models too!

13) What does your spouse, partner or significant other think of your hobby and your collection?

So far she is supportive and appreciates my photos and gives ideas for how to display them.

14) What is your daily driver?

I drive a Vespa S 2012 as a daily vehicle.
