1) What first got you collecting diecast? How long have you been collecting? What is your total model count as of today?

Love for cars since I was a kid. Back in 1993, when I was 10 years old, I was cutting out pictures of cars from magazines and creating my own book of cars. I got back to collecting when my boy David turned 2 years old. He loves cars just as much.

2) What was your first diecast or memory?

I believe it was a Bburago Buggati eBay 110 when I was 12 years old. The first one bought when David was born was a Maisto Bugatti. Later, I transitioned to high-end brands like BBR or AUTOart.

3) What is your favourite scale, and why?

I focus on 1:18 because it seemed to be the scale with the most options, but I’m playing with the idea of switching to 1:12.

4) What are some of your favourite models to date? Did you share any photos with us?

My all-time favourite is the Ferrari F40, Murcielago, and La Ferrari in that order, but I also like older cars like the 1959 Corvette.

5) Is there a model that has eluded you, a holy grail of sorts?

I would love to have the BBR Ferrari 488 Pista – full open at some point.

6) What is your favourite brand/manufacturer, and why?

From what I have seen so far, probably Amalgam, but since I don’t have any, I’m most impressed with AUTOart because they are the most consistent company as far as quality goes.

7) Describe your current theme and what your overall goal is?

Right now, I’m thinking about selling my 1:18 collection and acquiring 2-3 of my favourite pieces in 1:12 scale, which will look more professional while on display.
Note: I also collect 1:64.

8) Do you display your collection? If yes, how?

I do, not all of it, as I don’t like the clutter look of it, but some.

9) Do you have any other hobbies, passions or addictions?

Yes,  I like to hunt, shoot a gun & bow, I also hit the gym 5x a week, I’m one with nature too.

10) What do you think about the diecast hobby as it stands today?

It’s getting better & better, the future seems promising.

11) If you could change one thing about the diecast hobby what would that be?

Better quality control in some brands!  No question about it!!

12) Do you modify cars? If yes, what are some examples?

I do not.

13) What does your spouse, partner or significant other think of your hobby and your collection?

She says she doesn’t think anything about it; however, my 4-year-old David is very proud.

14) What is your daily driver?

I have a 2022 Honda Ridgeline
