I’m not sure what’s worse, the downfall of Kyosho as a diecast company, or the individual downfall of classic Kyosho models relentlessly self destructing with paint rash as we speak.
What happened to go so wrong with Kyosho..???? I used to buy heaps of their quality diecast releases…
That red Rolls Royce is hideous – vulgar, rapper-spec nasty. Never mind Kyosho, it represents everything that’s gone wrong at RR since they fell into German ownership.
Oh and since it’s a red Kyosho, it’ll probably be covered in paint rash in a couple of years…
Well said, I agree 100%. What’s more: It’s the “old” Roller, not the newer, current facelift. You are really wondering why Kyosho have become a mere shadow of themselves when you look at their former Countach, the Morgan, Bentley Mulsanne Speed, high end Ferraris.
These are merely a rehash coming from the same old mould, except this time with stupid colors. Such a downright insult to their fans.
For Kyosho there must be enough people who buy these releases. So if they sell a good amount of models with the least amount of effort, then I dont think some forum commens will bother them.
Honestly I always tried to avoid Kyosho. Very few modles of them I prefer to keep in my collection. High-end ferraris, and even the regular GTB4 are the good exceptions. But how on Earth there is a regular GTB4 with beautifully crafted cockpit and engine, and the likes of De Tomazo Pantera with plastic model kit-level engine components & interior, and very bad QC are sold for the same price? How on earth a 427 cobra from Solido surpasses the proportions of Kyosho’s, while being almost three times cheaper? For me that’s a very inconsistant brand.
Having said that, I’m still impressed by those Ferraris a lot. Any other suggestions of older Kyosho models that **are** worth checking?
pretty much all their Ferraris and Lamborghinis from opening diecast days are worth checking out. Apart from the universal paint rash issue some newer one exhibit inconsistent QC such as crooked panels or inconsistent panel gaps.
Having said that i still adore old Kyosho diecast models and fortunately enough for me I got pretty much all their Ferraris and 2/3 of the Lambos and I bought them before the prices were widly inflated and before the crap overpriced resin took over
