PHOTO GALLERY: NZG Mercedes-Benz Vision One-Eleven Concept

The Mercedes-Benz Vision One-Eleven is a striking concept that bridges the brand’s 1970s experimental past with a bold vision of its electric future. Inspired by the iconic C111 prototypes, it carries over signature cues like the wedge-shaped silhouette and gullwing doors, now reimagined with ultra-clean “One-Bow” surfacing and pixelated LED lighting that can animate graphics across the front fascia. Its design is both dramatic and divisive—some praise the low-slung, futuristic stance, while others liken it to a handheld vacuum or a sci-fi fish. Nonetheless, it’s an unmistakable showcase of Mercedes’ design leadership.

Beneath the concept’s dramatic shell lies serious innovation. It features two compact axial-flux electric motors from YASA, a Mercedes subsidiary, offering motorsport-level power density while being smaller and lighter than conventional motors. Paired with F1-inspired cylindrical battery cells, the setup is engineered for blistering performance and rapid energy discharge, pointing clearly to future AMG applications. The cabin is equally progressive, offering a dual-mode interior that transforms from race-focused to lounge-like comfort, complete with sustainable materials and a cutting-edge augmented reality display via Magic Leap.

While still a concept, reviewers see the Vision One-Eleven as a credible glimpse into Mercedes-AMG’s EV future. It’s not just about dramatic looks; it’s also a statement of intent, combining heritage, performance, and emerging technology. Whether it evolves into a road-ready machine remains to be seen, but its influence on future AMG design and tech seems almost certain.

As for the model by NZG, it’s executed in typical fashion – clean and competent – with the car’s striking design taking center stage. Interior access is provided, and the detailing inside is well above average, especially considering this is a concept car. Worth noting, this is a European-exclusive release, limited to just 1,111 pieces. It also includes a 1:12-scale figurine of the car’s designer, Gorden Wagener. Unfortunately, in the chaos of things, I missed the chance to capture my own photo of him – but I’ve borrowed a courtesy image from the web, shown below. This model is selling out quickly. While concept cars are certainly a niche within the hobby, my collection is full of them, and this piece has earned a proud spot among them.

On a more personal note, being part of the DiecastSociety.com experience has forged some remarkable global friendships. One standout connection is Karsten Weiss—a true leader in the community and someone I now proudly call a friend. Karsten has been a valued contributor to DS from day one, a passionate ambassador, and an indispensable part of our team. After a frantic chase to secure this model, he surprised me by gifting it as a wedding present. Thank you again, my friend – your generosity means the world.

What’s still 100% not clear to me: is the car itself 1/18?

  2. George K says:

Beautiful model- as my “smart friends would say, a real “objet d’art”!
And, wonderful acknowledgement to Karsten. I’ve been here for years now, and I never consider a subject complete until I read Karsten’s thoughts!

    • DS Team says:

      George, thanks for the comment!

      • Karsten says:

Thank you so much George, for appreciating my thoughts and the addition of my limited perspective. Yet, I ´d like to stress that I never consider anything I say the final word on anything and often enough find a review or discussion wonderfully balanced and complete, having nothing to add to what others have already said.

Thank you, my friend! Your kind words balm my wounds.

Diecastsociety is my life raft to cling to as my life and physical and mental health become ever more scarred and wrecked, lately including the dangling threat of a (further) cancer and insults that hurt to the bone and include ridiculing me for the hobby. The hobby and DS are my Northern Star as everything else is going south. In this painful and often ingrateful world your acknowledgement does me good.

    A thousand thanks!

Kind words, thank you. I’ll do my best to connect when we visit your country in September. Until then, God’s speed and positive vibes.

I love concept cars! Does anybody know where I can get this one?

    • Karsten says:

I can hardly deny that I do know where to get this one (eleven):
These are exclusively sold through Mercedes dealers in Germany (for 220-240€), but they don ´t ship them abroad. That´s why resellers on Ebay seek their profit from Mercedes´ policy of only selling nationally and add a significant premium (seen one for 370€ without shipping).

So if you are located outside the EU, you will face an estimated cost of over 300€ once shipping and inevitable customs and taxes have been added, and that is with the model itself purchased at its normal price. From Ebay you could find yourself paying over 400€.

    • DS Team says:

There are a few specialty shops, car-related ones in Germany that have this piece. The challenge, most did not want to ship outside the European Union. Passion drives this hobby for most, so sometimes the average cost of acquiring something that inspires will be higher.
