Interesting choices for the mclarens – the mp4/11 has been done in quite an interesting spec that’s never been done in 1/18 before. I’m surprised they haven’t gone for the Japanese gp for hunt’s m23 though, it would sell out instantly.

I’d like to see them release Schumacher’s 1997 ferrari and hakkinen’s 1998 mclaren – both models were produced quite poorly by minichamps and haven’t been revisited since.

  2. Benz says:

    Cooper T51? Schuco made an all-opening & super-detailed one

And Minichamps made an opening M23. It’s nice that GP Replicas are filling some gaps in F1 history, but both of those are relatively recent models that are still available for less than GP Replicas are asking.

      • SW says:

A lot of the time I think they just copy other manufacturers molds and add in a few details like carbon decals, photo etch rivets and then clearcoat over the top. The mp4/11 doesn’t look like a copy of the minichamps, I think they’re taking bbr/studio 27 kits and upscaling the dimensions to 1/18

    • DS Team says:

A great piece too. Poor sales though.

  3. Rafael R. says:

Better than GP Replicas and full diecast metal with all opening parts was the Schuco 450032700 1/18 Cooper T51 World Champion Jack Brabham 1959 released in 2013.
