Team CMC has released official photos of their upcoming 1:18 scale Alfa Romeo Tipo P3. Note these are pre-production painted sample images, as per CMC “This sample is a prototype. It’s not reflecting the quality and details of the final product”. The results thus far look promising. Please connect with CMC or dealer for more information or pre-orders.

I like it! Unfortunately, I’m in the USA, where CMC’s distribution arm absolutely SUCKS. Because of that, I will wait for a MIB used one to show up on the secondary market (like I did with exoto’s D-Jag) since I know that I will get zero support from CMC. I am fortunate enough to be able to afford this model, but not foolish enough to give my money to a bunch of clowns who don’t care about delivering a satisfactory product. Sure, I could buy from a reputable retailer (Replicarz, Toronto motorsports, Mint Models, et all) but that would result in money going to CMC, who isn’t allowed to receive any more business from me. Can’t wait to see these guys go the way of exoto- another has-been that self destructed when they became too big for their britches. I mean, really, do these companies think they can treat people who can spend $800 on a model car like crap and stay in business?
So you hate them so much that you hope they go out of business and therefore can’t produce new models YET you’re still are planning on owning one of their new models (even if bought on the secondary market). So…the part where you hope they go out of business, is that after they’re able to produce this model you want?
I swear, sometimes I think consumerism causes people’s minds to short circuit.
Please! If I can get it on the secondary market, fine. if not, that’s OK, too. I’m saying they do not deserve to be in business given the shabby way they treat their customers. This isn’t just me, it’s my long-time, trusted vendor who got dragged into it, too. He had to eat a lot of money and S**T from CMC USA, too. So in answer to your question: I hope they go out of business, right now, today. I will get along fine without any more CMCs in my collection. This is not the same company I did business with twenty-two years ago.
I understand your feelings very much, and I have the same problem
After the disappointments of the last few models, this one looks very good. I can’t wait to see the final version.
This certainly looks like they have upped their game after the last few models. The suspension, engine and interior all look good, apart from the usual CMC overscale outside of the steering wheel.
Yes, overall this looks very impressive except for the the steering wheel and some of the visible screws in various areas. CMC always does a much better job with this type of car/racer than they do with most of their full bodied sports cars…Ferrari’s, Aston Martin, etc.
I totally agree with this. The Bugatti Type 35, Alfa Romeo 6C 1750 GS Mille Miglia and Mercedes – Benz SSKL are the perfect illustration. They supersede everything else they produce. I imagine that it will be the same with the final versions of this Alfa Romeo Tipo B “P3”. CMC should concentrate on this type of cars, it is in this field that they excel. I would like them to look at the Bentley Blower 4l1/2, the Bugatti Type 59 Grand Prix, the Maserati 6C34 and the Alfa Romeo 8C Monza.
Minichamps made a 1:18 scale Bentley Blower…worth the price if you can find one. I doubt CMC could improve on it.
The Minichamps is interesting, but just on the subject of the spoked rims, engine, straps and soft interior materials, I think the CMC could do much better, especially since the Minichamps’ selling price on the used market is so high, that it would be difficult to compare for this one.
But we’re talking in a vacuum, CMC has never mentioned this car, yet.
