FIRST LOOK: ACME Pontiac Firebirds – Serial Numbers 001 & 002

ACME has unveiled the first painted samples of their upcoming 1:18 diecast metal and full 360 access 1967 Pontiac Firebird Convertible – Serial #001 and 1967 Pontiac Firebird H.O. – Serial #002.  More on each car below.  The production number for both are capped at 500 pieces each.  Retail is still providing value, under $140 US.  Both examples are due to arrive in Q3 2023.

About the Pontiac Firebirds…  “The Pontiac Firebird holds a well-deserved legacy among classic American pony cars. The pair with VIN 001 and 002 came out of the Pontiac Lordstown, OH, assembly plant in early 1967. Pontiac toured with them for auto shows and marketing materials before eventually selling them.

Serial Number 001 Pontiac Firebird was restored to stock condition by adding a fresh coat of Regimental Red paint, which matches the red interior, adding a traditional black convertible top, and restoring the nuts and bolts. Incredibly, it features the original L30 326-cubic-inch V8 engine and boasts a 2-barrel Rochester carburetor that produces 250 horsepower.

The 1967 Pontiac Firebird H.O. Serial #002 was the second Firebird produced and the first in a coupe configuration. Decked out in silver paint with a black vinyl top and powered by a V8 engine with a four-barrel carburetor, higher compression and dual exhaust, it produces up to 285 hp. Firebirds inspired generations of auto enthusiasts. We’re stoked to see them restored to their former glory and given the proper respect they deserve.”

Man, I wish they would consider these for 1:24. That would be amazing and I bet they’d sell like crazy. Us 1:24 collectors are itching for good quality diecast.
