This color is what I was waiting for! Now let’s see when it will be available…

Lcd vs autoart, is this one worth its price? I do enjoy that colour and it looks like an accurate representation…

    • Matrix Y says:

Lcd offers the most bang for the buck, and is a great model with just a few inaccuracies.
However, if you want the most accurate representation of the real car, better QC and build quality, Autoart is the way to go even with the high price.

Nice colour but the model’s a bit too inaccurate for me. This is one that’s ripe for AA to redo, as with the R34 GTR.

I’ve explicitly asked a seller to give me a favor and carefully inspect a model for the absense/presence of a crack in the plastic part of the engine cover. (More details: the inner (internal) side of the engine cover has a black _plastic_ jut (or lug), to which the engine cover’s strut (or prop) is connected. And this plastic jut tends to have a crack caused by a screw screwed into it).
And guess what? The seller confirmed that two of the inspected models had that crack.
Here is what I had written as a comment to the review of the green McLaren F1 by LCD:

“I’m almost sure the mentioned crack happens on the factory while a small screw is being screwed into the small plastic jut.
Even in this situation, I believe the crack could be avoided by making the initial hole (for the screw) a little more bigger in the plastic jut, and then by using a few milligrams of glue to ensure the screw is safely fixed in the hole.”

Guys, we need to deliver this message to LCD Models. Otherwise we have to accept the presence of the mentioned defect in potentially most of the models of McLaren F1.

    • DS Team says:

Believe me, we truly understand how frustrating it can be. We’ll echo the comments, thanks.

    • Vitaliy D says:

Eventually, my order has been cancelled – because the seller did not find a single model without this defect! This is how bad the things are…
The seller promised to deliver my concern, as well as my suggestion of improving the assembly process, to the manufacturer. Let’s wait and see if it changes anything…
