About the Buick Wildcat 1 Concept… “Buick used the name %u201Ewildcat%u201C for dive concept cars, three of them were shown in the 50s, one in 1987 and the last one in 1997. Wildcat I (1953) , Wildcat II (1954) and Wildcat III (1955) were designed by Harley Earl, I and II still exist today. The 1985 Wildcat was a radical mid-engine sports car with all-wheel drive and a V6 engine with DOHC. The chassis was made by carbon and vinyl fiber and the body had a convertible roof for entry and exit. This futuristic car still belongs to Buick today and still functions. In 1997 Buick built a concept car, which was named Riviera Wildcat. This car had carbon fiber door panels instead of wood and blacked chrome parts on the exterior, while the engine was stock.”
