About the Maserati Biturbo Coupe… “The Maserati Biturbo was manufactured by Maserati Italy between autumn of 1981 until the end of 1994. The model was positioned in the upper middle class, which offered a wide variety of different car bodies and engines. The Biturbo was smaller, weaker, but also more economic in comparison to the Maserati models of the 1960s and 1970s, due to the efforts of the Maserati owner Alejando de Tomasos, who acquired the company in 1975, in order to make the factory economically more sound by achieving higher outputs. The plan worked, in 1982 they produced 1888 cars, 5333 in the year after and in the year of introduction in 1981 they only manufactured 528 cars. Sadly the reputation suffered due to technical problems, which resulted in the output being stuck between 2000 to 3000 cars per year.”
