ACME has an all Black beauty on the verge of release, the new 1:18, diecast 1967 Pontiac Firebird “East Bound and Down”. Not sure what the East Bound and Down stands for, but we do like the clean cut execution of this piece. Model features detailed motor and interior, though some improvements are likely based on the hand-sample photos provided by the team. Retail is suggested at $134.95US. Look for the Pontiac Firebird to be on shelves sometime in late fall 2017.

The “East bound & down” is from the movie “Smokey and the Bandit”. Totally wrong year car (by a long shot).
They say it’s a tribute car, a “What if this movie was filmed in the late 60’s”. Personally I think it’s a stupid waste of a car when they could have made a nice semi-custom car out of but whatever.
Hey, the guys at Acme GMP are car nuts to start with. They probably know a thing or two about Ol’ Bandit’s car. Now this is a model car, the beauty of it is that they can do anything they want with them. So why not have a little fun with their product? You don’t like it, buy anything else that’s been done with this tooling. There’s been about two dozens issued including the Lane Exact Detail products. Acme GMP came out with 4 or 5 new editions of their own in the last 4 years. This model is not like it’s a unique 1/1 1967 Firebird!
I don’t buy their new cars anyway lol. They may be car nuts, but they’re also power hungry and greedy. As a collector, I can’t give anyone who makes a worse product than they had in the past $140 USD for something.
