First Look: Looksmart Lamborghini Countach LP500 Prototype

Looksmart has unveiled first images of their upcoming Lamborghini Countach LP500 Prototype in 1:18 scale.  We don’t believe this model has been in production since the old, diecast release from Kyosho.  The model will be enjoyed in Yellow, Red, White and Green.  Street date is set for Q2 2018.

About the Lamborghini Countach LP500 Prototype …  “1971 Geneva Auto Show Lamborghini introduced the mind-blowing Countach, the full denomination was LP 500 Countach, where the LP stood for Longitudinale Posteriore 5000 cc, and the 5-Liter engine was put longitudinally in the back.   This new 5-Liter engine, which was built using a lot of magnesium even for the gearbox and differential, was completely designed and built by Lamborghini, while Bertone, more precisely by Marcello Gandini, executed the body design.  The Countach looked awesome, a futuristic prototype, a one-off, but the critics were wrong, the Countach was destined to go into production, and shortly after the introduction, Ferruccio Lamborghini halted the Miura SV production, to be succeeded by the Countach.”

BTW the Kyosho was the 2nd prototype with vents added for cooling.
This is the original that had clearer lines, but that would overheat..
The original was destroyed in crash tests, but the 2nd protype
is on display in the Lamborghini museum.
The 1st prototype AFAIK has only been available in 1:43
