MINI GT New LB WORKS Nissan GT-R (R35) Matte Grey/Light Blue

From TrueScale Miniatures sister brand, MINI GT comes the new LB WORKS Nissan GT-R (R35) in Matte Grey and Light Blue.  Each model is available in LHD and RHD.  Our team is not sure what all the fuss is about with 1:64 scale, but there seems to be a growing market for the scale.  And what is presented here from MINI GT isn’t too shabby either.

The fuss about 1/64 is that you can have a 1000 1/64 scale cars in your room, but not a 1000 1/18 or 1/43 scale cars in your room

Would you not rather have 100 1:18 on display than 1000 1:64? Though neat initially long-term we would think the novelty would wear thin. As always to each their own!

Well, space would be an issue for either. I have to admit I’m a bit surprised to hear such biased opinions against 1/64 cars from a diecast site. Sure you focus more on larger scale cars, but to dismiss 1/64 seems out of touch with what is arguably one of the most widely collected scales out there. Have you never taken a look at all of the Facebook groups dedicated to the various 1/64 brands out there?…not just limited to American brands like Hot Wheels, M2, and Greenlight, but also international brands such as Tomica, Kyosho, Majorette, etc. There’s a reason why companies like TSM and Tarmac Works are getting into the 1/64 game…especially considering how much more detailed they’re able to make these cars nowadays. The current trend towards JDM cars hasn’t hurt either. I consider myself a collector of toy/model cars of all scales that represent the real cars I love as opposed to a collector of any particular scale.

We appreciated your 360 approach. I’m sure many here grew up with this scale in hand literally. But at the end of the day depth, detail is lacking. There is always exception to rule, but the appeal here is more price and surely space. Yes, we are a diecast site. That won’t stop us from asking the tough question and playing devils advocate.
