The 75th edition of the Spielwarenmesse, held from 27–31 January 2026 in Nuremberg, reaffirmed its status as the world’s largest and most influential toy fair. While the event showcased everything from AI-driven toys to sustainable play concepts, for collectors and hobbyists, the spotlight here will be firmly on scale diecast and resin models.
As the current DiecastSociety.com Model of the Year gains momentum, collectors are feeling the pinch and demanding greater value for their money. This is where brands such as Norev, OttOmobile, and GT Spirit step in, alongside more budget-conscious options like Solido and Bburago, offering a balance between quality and affordability.
The Nuremberg Toy Fair remains the benchmark for global trends in the diecast segment. For retailers, distributors, and collectors, the 2026 edition signals a future where heritage craftsmanship meets sustainability and smart tech, ensuring that scale models remain both nostalgic and forward-looking.

I only keep an eye on the premium 1/64 now. I hope that more enter the market with more variety. Laudoracing is doing great things at an incredible price.
There are soooooooooo many brands that cater to 1:64 scale. What we present here is just the tip of the iceberg!
Bonjour , comment le salon a pû se tenir , du 27 au 31 janvier , alors que nous sommes le 19 janvier ,🤔
Yes, the date is correct. The show is up coming; “HELD from 27–31 January 2026”
I wonder what is going on with the hung hing toys 1/18 scale diecast lamborghini countach lpi 800-4. It looked promising. Besides that, lcd is about the only brand I’m interested in.
Not sure. Isn’t it three years in the making?!?
Hallo diecastsociety,
At the stand from tecno models i think a see the Ferrari’s 512 BBI Lm on 1/18 is it correct?
Peter.
Not sure. We did ask Tecnomodel to send us more photos of their booth. More to come!
Well, damn, that’s a lot of new stuff from Norev. And it seems a lot of full open models with nice hinges and support struts as well.
Many thanks for sharing all these pictures – much appreciated.
Will you also show 1/43 models this year.
We will post anything of interest. All scales if available.
It looks like in 1:43 scale there is not many news. Like last year only LCD is showing most of the stuff in the 1:43 diecast with openings like Range Rover SV Serenity (should be available for sale already), Pagani Huayra R (coming soon). I have seen also a Pagani Imola in red, Pagani Zonda Barchetta in blue and black and the prototypes for Pagani Huayra R Evo roadster and Defender 90. At TSM the only new stuff in 1:43 looks to be the M5 and M5 Touring besides the models that are already announced since end of last year Bentley Batur, Ford Mustang GTD. Kyosho has the Toyota Crown Sport RS and the Nissan GT-R R32. Schuco, Spark and the others not so much 1:43 at the show
Please can you publish a review, or at least some more information, on the Polistil ‘High Fidelity’ Ferrari models just released – Purosangue, Roma, & 12Cilindri – and the coming soon 849 Testarossa.
I can’t tell from the pictures here if they are fully or only partly accessible, and what your impression is of this new range from May Cheong Group vis-a-vis Bburago Signature. They seem to be pitched in a similar price range.
Collectors here have long complained about the lack of new types of Ferrari models from the official licence holder, and now with Polistil’s quartet, the F80 and various SF90 variants from Bburago itself, we have a veritable deluge; famine to feast, or just junk food a go-go?
We’ll try and source a sample or hopefully one of he regular extended reviewer will action one. From what we gather it isn’t far from Bburago Signature.
I shall look forward to reading articles in the future.
Looking carefully at the pictures in this update, it looks like the boot (trunk) and bonnet (hood) of the Purosangue open, but not the doors. Not sure about the Roma as, strangely, it is only shown inside its box. The 12Cilindri is pictured as clearly fully accessible.
On the carmodel.com website, all four of the new Polistil Ferrari models are described as “with openings” …
Fully opening 964 Carrera (with a sunroof) and a Carrera RS 3.8 from IXO?? That’s very random, looking forward to seeing those completed.
YES!
Can someone explain why Norev includes a rear defogger on some models but not on others? Older releases have it, but some of the newer color variants don’t, even though the real car does. What’s the reason for this inconsistency?
I spotted an Agera in the LCD Models line up. Even though it’s not the exact model I prefer, which is the Agera “R”, it’s a start. In other words, a Koenigsegg model in fully opening 1/18 that hasn’t already been made by anyone so far. PLEASE, LCD MODEL, DO THE AGERA R IN THE FUTURE WITH TURBINE WHEEL RIMS.
You should check the photos on instagram, it’s a lot bigger than 1/18…
Which Instagram account are you referring to?
This BBR give up on the diecast Purosangue?
Nope! We should be receiving our sample very soon!
Man, NZG finally releasing some good stuff. I hope they going to make some older AMG models.
Ottomobile/GT Spirit are showing a 1978 black Trans Am. Hoping that is 1/18 and not 1/12. Looks promising, although I’m also hoping the distorted front and rear length are the result of photographing it through the display case glass and not the model itself.
unfortunately, it’s 1:12, i hope too if they make this in 1:18 and other 60’s – to early 2000 muscle cars this going to be hit.
Fully opening 944, YES! And the Volvo Amazons look tasty as well. Curious to see so many 1/12s, and Norev ones seem to have opening bits.
Oooh, guys from Norev have gone crazy! But not only them. It is insane how many models are released every year since resin models appeared on market.
Can´t wait to see final version of ModelCarGroup ´93 Caprice!
Are the Marlboro decals included on Otto Celica safari rally 1990. With Waldegård ?
Zincpest is not specific to one brand. And it is unfair to target CMC.
As far as I know …. none of my CMC Collection has any Zn Pest. I have the collection going all the way back to the beginning. There was early models of the Mercs that had the devil but not since a very long time, even then it was not all of the batches as I may be lucky but I have pristine examples. You will find paint rash on Exoto/Minichamps/Autoart no problem at all.
I saw a pic of the LCD Utopia in (black) exposed carbon online. Is LCD releasing it?
Most likely.
I love the Norev announcements! A VW Corrado (opening I guess), an opening Porsche 944 and an SLK (which seems opening, but without the hood mechanism, which Maisto does have. I’d still get the Norev as well though.
Are there any photos or news of what Spark is doing with their backlog of announcements that are yet to see the light of day? Especially the classic Le Mans Winners in 1/18 scale.
With Spark, if you haven’t seen a sample yet, don’t expect any model to arrive before the end of 2026. They had a massive bottleneck in the first part of 2025, may be because they were making versions of way too many 2024 F1 cars and were running behind – they have since turned the wick off on that.
