We got our hands on additional production images on the new 1:18 GMP | Masterpiece Collection Ferrari 512S 5.0L V12 Long Tail – Team SPA Ferrari Sefac #8 24h Le Mans 1970, drivers Arturo Merzario and Clay Regazzoni. It is not quite often a classic race car comes in replica form these days and features diecast metal, full access and a wealth of detailing… Price is reflective though, north of $400 US will grant you entry. Did GMP hit the mark?

Rough maybe but at least the shape looks right to me. Better than my CMR version that has sides that look a bit too high. Mine will have to do though as the prices of this stuff are just getting ridiculous.
Read from another source that this model actually is based on a car from the Steve McQueen movie, not from the car that raced the real race.
Many too many problems, as well as overall quality. The last Ferrari I bought made by GMP was their 312PB, which was superb then, and still is today. Their newer pieces IMO are nowhere near as good.
I was really looking forward to this. I think it’s good and if it was about $200 I would not hesitate to buy it. At the MSRP it has though, I expect close to perfection and this is not that.
