CMC has shed some light on their plan for 2022 and beyond. First, they are expanding on the Ferrari 275 GTB assortment with three new colours, they include British Racing Green, California Blue and the Modena Giallo, each limited to only 1000 pieces. Also, a German specimen from the past is coming back, welcome the 1:18 Mercedes 300 SLR Uhlenhaut Coupe, which includes four new variants and the original release with a Red interior. Hooray, the 300 SLR Coupe will be re-released!
Hmm, CMC disappoints me :( The pre-ordering price was around 480 euro a few days ago, and today it is 577 euro! With this situation, I feel I’m loosing my interest in this model.
I am sorry but the price for the Mercedes 300 SLR is a complete rip off. It is the same mold identical to the first release. Yes we live in a different time now, yes there is a hyperinflation in most parts of the world and almost in every department, not just in the hobby as whole. Anyway, it just doesn’t justify the new price tag. I remember that I got both of them around the 300 euros mark. As mentioned for the reasons above, put a 100 euros extra for additional cost (higher salary for the workers and etc.) even 150 but to announce it at a starting price of 530 euros it is absurd.
Fix that rear window gasket and frame and I’ll take a California Blue 275!
