BBR unveils their 1:18 Ferrari 499P – Winner Le Mans 2023 #51 car. This resin example is definitely popular, as the pre-order of 499 units is already sold out! If history is any indication, patience is key, wait for the next run of models!

I know what people say about resin being more detailed, but I’d rather see a bit of compromised detail here and there if it means seeing this car in diecast with opening parts and rolling/steering wheels. For me, Diecast models with moving parts is more than half the excitement of this hobby. In other words, if someone made the Ferrari 499P in fully opening DIECAST, I’d be over the moon about that
Unless BBR starts using ABS like AutoArt, it will not happen. They would not make a metal diecast of any car like this due to all of the complex angles of the car. I can also tell you from experience, the more models you have, the less important “rolling/steering wheels” become.
At least I’m dodging a financial bullet by simply letting someone else go and pre-order these resins to death. Also, at least when we finally meet up with Enzo Ferrari in Heaven, we will all get DIECAST models that never were. That’s one way to proclaim patience is key
Clearly The BBR is best of the three 499 P versions so far ( Bburago – Look Smart ) ,
that we have seen , and the most expensive one , as well of course !
I was surprised by the good quality – price value of the Bburago ,
with opening doors even , and disappointed at the quality of the Look Smart.
But if you want to have the best representation of the Ferrari that won Le Mans overall for the 10th time , then this one is clearly the model to get !
