Budget fans, Norev will release the 1:18 metal and opening Porsche 911 (992) GT3 RS 2022. Multiple colours include Miami Blue, GT Silver and Lava Orange. With this model likely to sell like candy, we can confidently say more colours will be in the works, especially those to complement their online exclusivity assortment. Look for these to arrive in December 2023.
Product# TBD
This is not Miami Blue. Looks more like Maritime Blue, a colour available on the 964 RS.
Looks great but I am wondering if this still is for the budget fans because the Norev cars have become much more expensive!
Not Maritime Blue, more like Shark Blue. Shark Blue started as a standard color on the 992 GT3.
The price of 220 euros for Norev can hardly be called budget. Mr. Krombach sells this model (budget ha-ha) in his store for 219.95 euros. Considering that I bought the last three Norev models (Targa-964, Touring and GT-3) at a price of +/- 100 euros, the price of this model is clearly not budget. God bless the price, but the quality of the model has not increased one iota! This is what causes great irritation! And even more surprising is the information on the Polish website – 104 euros. The French have 110. But 220 euros is clearly too much.
Those are Porsche exclusive models, which are always ridiculously overpriced (think Spark Porsches for 400 euros).
Premium Modelcars has their own exclusive models for preorder right now at 120 euros. Norev’s own releases are for preorder at Modellauto18 for 105 euros.
Sorry, we did not realize these were “exclusives” but as we alluded to, the hobby side of Norev should action additional colours for their portfolio, these should align with “budget” concise buyers. Patience is key in the hobby.

It seems CK at times writes their own rules.
Mr. Krombach, of course, has the right to do whatever he wants on his territory – this is his RIGHT! But we also have the right to express our own opinions about our problems.
Yes, absolutely. Point here. A little homework will provide you with a better price.
I would have never thought we’ll get back to those days but here we are. I mainly collect 1/43 and one thing I remember back from mid 2010 when you could buy a Lambo Murcielago SV, made by 6 different manufacturers with some being better than others, and sold at more comletitive prices. In result market ended up being over saturated as models were made in higher numbers and if you’re looking for one, you can get one from eBay well below RRP.
I can see the history repeating itself again with the 992 GT3 RS. Norev is already the 3rd manufacturer that have released their example, on top of that we’ll get SPARK, GT Spirit and AA(I can bet my whole collection on it).
The point I am trying to make here is that if you don’t FOMO in straight away. You can wait until all the manufacturers will release their examples and pick one that suits you the most. Considering the retail prices being so high now due to the licensing and the “GT + RS” branding factor, with market being overly saturated again, those models may end up losing on their value in few years time, especially if you add the factor of the next generation (Won’t be called 993 again, but you get what I mean) that will come out, then that’s where the collector’s focus will go. Shops may have too many models in stock, and may be forced to put rest of their stock on sale. Business still makes money, but often the “SALES” are out of desperation and it only hurts the retail owners.
Take the 997 GT3 RS made by AutoArt as an example. You can scoop one for less than £100-150 at eBay auction. Yes, it’s still at a bit higher price, from what it was sold in shops many years ago, but inflation is a factor we can’t avoid. If you look at what you get as a model, it’s a heavy, fully opening, with beautifully exposed engine and finished at high standard. Something we can’t expect anymore from brands and manufacturers. It’s an absolute Bargain!
Porsche is happy, model brand’s are happy (To some extent). But retailers can be affected the most as there may not be enough demand for every model brand what can gradually start to kill the hobby as less brands may be getting involved and start taking desperate measures for their business to function. Greatest example of my theory is how AA gave up on the 1/43. I would love to buy their high quality model at a Lambo which they would probably still make. Instead have to spend triple what I used to, for a high end Looksmart.
Yes, good point. We believe many have been quality of rushing in.

This may have worked 10 years ago but today, we believe this method won’t apply so much, more so on the high-end side as budget-friendly usually pushes a lot more market-wise with production runs 3-4 times that of AUTOart or others at this level. Others seem to judge the market based on pre-order interaction… As always, PATIENCE is definitely a must for the hobby. And we’ll never get tired of stating it.
Certainly a good point and a good reminder for myself too.
Don’t be too qucik with buying, Ebay can save a lot of money in some time.
Also gives the opportunity to wait for the right colour for example, best suited for the collection.
