It’s rare a manufacturer will excel further than high-end brand CMC, but this is what Martisan are, the premier of scale model excellence. The team has just unveiled photos of their upcoming 1:18 Ferrari 250LM. The results thus far are looking promising. Layers of details with addition of fabrics and textures makes this premium piece. This does come at a price, likely in the neighborhood of $2000 US. Oddly missing are some full-length exterior shots. Is this due to the panel gap on the rear?
Product# TBD
The exhaust tips are not even aligned for 2000 dollars I guess you can try to straiten them yourself!
Note, it’s a painted sample.
Interesting. They were late to the party with 250 GTO but here they’re setting themselves to directly compete for the customer who wants the best there is, money no object. And it’s possible some of those people who would otherwise buy a CMC will turn to Martisan.
I wrote to CMC to tell them to fix the ride height on their LM, they told me there is no such thing and everything is like the real one, but that is not the case. Many collectors already confirmed it’s higher than it’s supposed to be.
I know some that would spend the $$, they value quality over quantity. This model should be perfected once the production piece is available. Thanks goodness they don’t dabble in Porsches!
Close, but not good enough for the price and quantity they are planning on producing. Front end/nose is close but still misses on exact shape (CMC is also wrong). A few other details look a little sloppy. Seat fabric is way out of scale. Using real fabric and real leather generally does not work well in 1:18 scale. For this price, I would much rather see very accurate simulation than bother with bragging rights of “Oh we used real fabric and real leather.” These manufacturers will never learn. And both CMC and Martisan will lose/give sales to each other – cutting both overall sales volume. I don’t know anyone who would buy both… Most if not all collectors will only buy one.
