Kyosho Ferrari 250 GTO Hi-End x2

Well someone at Kyosho thought of novelty idea, why not release a hi-end version of the hi-end version 1:18 Ferrari 250 GTO. So they did!  The new hi-end version is due in Q3-Q4 2016 and will feature a host of new upgrades as per Kyosho.  Each is listed below in detail.  Black and Red will be delivered, no additional colours are mentioned at this time.  Retail is suggested at $245US.  The Ferrari 250 GTO is a limited edition piece of 504, a nice alternative to those that can’t justify the CMC price point.

Upgraded highlights:

* Dashboard: Extra decoration at lower dashboard
* Engine: Additional decoration, Piping details, water tank and so on.
* Ferrari emblem: 3D emblem
* Front bonnet: leather-like fabric strap and improved hook
* Spare tire strap: leather-like fabric strap

I have just boxed my Hi-End Kyosho to make space for the CMC. There is quite a difference between a CMC and the Kyosho – even with the updates mentioned above.
Of course CMC´s price tag is a tall order. But I guess some of the replaced old Kyosho Hi-End 250 GTOs will be found on ebay soon.

KYO8433A. This is a Kyosho High End. Hard to find. THREE slots on the side with spare tire, functional fuel cap & open 3 vents on the front.

If i were to upgrade too a CMC, what would I get ? I presume the Wheel / Tire assembly comes off as with my 300S #1.

What do you think of the CMC Maserati Birdcage Tipo 61 #7 ? And do you think its worth another $300.00 +/- for the signed version ? – Thank You

CMC is much improved with overall attention to detail and fine detail. See the Review!

    • Karsten says:

Mark, the link to your website is dead, but I assume, you talk about the same Kyosho 250 GTO as mine. I put the link, so that everyone can compare pics of the Kyosho and the CMC on my website. You do get quite a bit more from the CMC. (Perhaps a detailed comparison review of CMC and Kyosho side by side, DS?) I´d agree, though, that there is not enough reason for the proud owner of the old Kyosho to buy the new.

Hope they will make a 288GTO and a F50. So wanna replace my Hotwheels crap.

    • Porsche993 says:

This! Even though BBR and MR are each making their own 288, I still would prefer a diecast model with opening parts. I have the 1/12 “kit” by Tamiya and it is an outstanding model! I’d love to see that kind of detail on a 1/18 288… CMC maybe?

  4. Patrick T. says:

I still do not understand that NOBODY makes a decent F50 in 1/18!

    • Porsche993 says:

Or a proper 360 Modena. Both Bburago’s and Hotwheels’ versions have so many exterior shape inaccuracies in them.

  5. JS Coleman says:

Is this a Kyosho DIECAST model? I’m going to slap myself, just to find out.

  6. Bob Johnson says:

I had a hand in the research of the Kyosho GTO in 2006.. it is based on chassis number 3765 that was originally a factory 4-liter car…. at the time, it was located near Cincinnatti, OH and I believe it is still with the current owner.. The body of the Kyosho replica is the most accurate shape for this classic ever created….. much better than the BBR model (beltline is not correct shape) and marginally better than the CMC replica……

  7. Ricki Paolo says:

I would not sell my Kyosho Hi-End for this even if I already have the CMC. I like to have both the short side-piped Kyosho version and the CMC long rear-piped version. Don’t want the same exact models with me. This Kyosho future release is a good option for those who wants an option besides CMC and other much high end brands.

I’ve just ordered the Kyosho 250 GTO old style – waiting for delivery. I looked carefully at photos of the CMC GTO and the shape of the body looks wrong to me – too angular – not rounded enough. I photographed and took a very good hard look at a real 275 ‘in the flesh’ at a classic car show in London – it is very much more rounded than photos I’ve seen of 250 GTO models. I’ll write again when my old style Kyosho 250 GTO arrives (from Italy).

  9. emeff says:

Plus, I really don’t like the look of the seat covering in the red GTOs from CMC.

  10. Arvind says:

Hi was the 250gto made in black originally by Ferrari? Or is it a fantasy colour?
