AUTOart is updating one of our favourite Porsches, the 356 Number 1. Originally released back in 2009 as Hobby and special exclusive Museum Edition, the model in 2018 is getting an update of sorts. Based on what we can see from the original the following changes are in place for the 2018 edition. The 356 Number 1 will also be manufactured in diecast metal.
* Red padding on dash – driver and passenger side.
* Instrument/clock added on the passenger side
* Rear view mirror is different from the original release – lower & larger
* “A” decal of left side above taillight added.
* Updated wheels/hubs

I wonder if this is a signal that AutoArt are finally getting the message – collectors are unhappy with your direction over the last ten years!
WOW, diecast! Haven’t had to think about buying an Autoart since the diecast re-release of the Jaguar E-Type.
No bad idea – per se. But if the car shown is final, it makes no sense at all and is a great pity. I was hoping AA would realize the “real” No.1 now, after their first version showed the several times reworked museums car. Like Porsche did in 1:1. A missed opportunity.
Diecast? Autoarts website lists it as composite.
This one is diecast, same as the original release.
