Sometimes, an OK made dog-legs are better than poorly made realistic hinges. Every time I open the door on my ACME/Greenlight 1967 T/A mustang, or GMP Masterpiece Corvette, I fear that this is the last time before the hinge breaks.
This is a really old mold… It is still decent compared to a lot of stuff out there. But yes dog legs are showing their age. I also agree with Ilka, while the proper hinges look better when you open a door, some are pretty loose and can’t hold the door straight or keep it closed properly. So if the dogleg works…
