One of the negative drawbacks to recycling molds from 15 years ago is that often times, you still get those rough-around-the-edges issues that were more of the norm from the hobby during that time period. I know this one has carpeting and likely a feel touch ups, but the overall shape of the car itself is a bit off.

I wish AutoArt attempted this with their old Holden mold, but with Pontiac touches. That would’ve been the proper GTO.

I feel like this one was made for someone who regretted not buying one brand new 15 years ago. And at $139 suggested retail price.. that’s a bit steep for carpeted interior on an old mold.

Better still, I’d love to see Autoart make in 1/18, the PONTIAC G8 in black WITH FULLY OPENING PARTS

      • Quennel Delhomeau says:

Agreed AA would make the better GTO model. As a Holden nut (and 1:1 G8 owner) I think Biante/Apex (owned by Downies) would be the best manufacturer to make the G8 happen. Or even just a road going VE Commodore besides the Apex mold HSV W427, such as an SSV. Heck I would settle for a resin closed body G8 even. Anyone else out there want to make it?!

    • DS Team says:

Agreed. The model does show its age as it is not polished as one would say.

i rather would like to see AA making updated version of HSV GTO… just because the US (Pontiac) version is just plain ugly…

      • Aaron says:

To each his own, butI say Autoart should make both for those who either prefer the HSV or the Pontiac. I prefer the Pontiac. Especially for the glory of the fact that this was Pontiac’s last model before GM murdered the marquee

I agree with both of you actually.. in fact I want one so badly that I’m willing to compromise and call it a deal if they make a LHD Holden.. that would make it closer to a Pontiac for me.

    • Aaron says:

I personally prefer it with the Pontiac fascia. It makes it look sharper IMO. Plus I also love the Pontiac logo, even though I know that’s superficial

Beautiful!!! Underrated car!!! I have the Monaro by AA. Nice model and it keeps his age well
