ACME #1 1967 Ford GT40 MKIV – 1967 Le Mans Winner

From ACME’s Masterpiece series comes another stunner, the #1 1967 Ford GT40 MKIV – 1967 Le Mans Winner, drivers Dan Gurney and A.J. Foyt.  This piece is crafted in 1:12 scale and features a host of goodies, as the photos will illustrate   Total part count is over 700 parts. Production at this point in time is estimated at only 350.  The release is scheduled for August 2018.  Suggested retail $599US.

About the Ford GT…  “Ford had the weapon of choice for the 1967 24 Hours of Le Mans and it was piloted by Americans Dan Gurney and A.J. Foyt. The team had to fabricate a roof “bubble” to accommodate the helmet of Dan Gurney, who stood more than 6 feet, 3 inches tall. The team led all but the first 90 minutes of the race and defeated the factory Ferrari 330P4 by nearly four laps. Ford wasn’t concerned about Ferrari; Ford was only concerned with making their cars go the full distance. The #1 Mk IV seemed to cruise effortlessly to the finish. The efforts of Ford, Shelby American, Gurney and Foyt resulted in a truly great, all-American victory. ”

Hopefully the rear spoiler will be fixed; that style was only for the #3 and #4 Holman Moody entry cars

  2. MLB says:

Nice model, and I have one from he first edition of these. This looks identical, including the still MISSING rear luggage bin that was required at Le Mans, and that this and all MK IV’s raced with there. That part really should have been added.

  3. modelcar.hk says:

Somehow, my Exoto MK IV #1 looks more detail than 1/12 GMP/ACME GT40

  4. MLB says:

This is also a re-release. Already produced before.
