ACME Exclusive 1968 Shelby Mustang – 1968 24 Hours of Daytona

ACME is releasing a 1:18 version of 1968 Shelby Mustang – 1968 24 Hours of Daytona Class Champion #1 car, drivers Jerry Titus and Ronnie Bucknum.  The model itself is based on GreenLight tooling.  Overall package looks good, and so does the price, less than $75US.  Street date is noted as February 2018.

“Jerry Titus began his racing career in 1960 working as a foreman for Beiner Imports and raced numerous platforms until 1966 when Shelby offered Titus a position on the Ford Mustang Trans-Am Team. Titus was the number one driver on the team, winning the Manufacturers Championship in ‘66 and ’67. During the ‘67 season he lead all drivers with four wins while driving for Shelby. In one of his last races for Shelby, he and Ronnie Bucknum piloted this #1 1968 Shelby to a class championship at the 1968 Daytona 24hr road race and finished 4th overall.”

  1. Another inaccurate ‘paint job’ on a ’67 Mustang. This looks a bit like the original car run to a class win at the 1968 Daytona 24 hours. Fans NEED accurate models of subjects such as this. Much as I want a replica, this will not be joining my collection.
