About time AutoWorld would re-do (at least revise it the tooling for this car. The overall shape is not too bad, but the windshield posts are way too thick and really make this model look toyish and unrealistic just a change to correct these would do wonders. The side exhaust could be redefined and made to look more realistic, the tail light bezels a on the thick side as well. The 63-67 Corvette is well regarded by more than just musclecar fans, while not a Jaguar E-type or a Ferarri of any 250 designation the C2 Corvette is definitely a classic. I believe a proper highly detailed 67 Corvette 427 coupe or roadster should be made available. I’m even surprized AutoArt with their quite nice 63’s didn’t make one of these before.
I agree with you. I bought a lot of cars in Ertl’s American Muscle series back in the 1990s and for the most part they got the overall shape and details right. They were a fun and affordable introduction to collecting 1:18 die cast, and one might in my case call them a “gateway drug” to better products from Auto Art, Kyosho and Minichamps and other brands. But I never considered this Corvette worthwhile, at any price.
