Well it seems the resounding answer is yes! With two confirmed announcements so far this week, the Porsche RWB and the Rocket Bunny GT86. It is great news for collectors whose only option to date were the mid priced, sealed resin cars from GT Spirit and the high ticket models from the likes of Ignition Model Ltd. and Make Up. On the flip side if one wanted a diecast creation the newly announced Porsche RWB 993 from Tunning Auto Model is definitely cool, but a retail price approaching $700CND is just nuts! AUTOart should bring some clam to pricing (well we hope so), but these models will most likely see light in their newly documented composite material. Looking forward to more tuner cars from the brand for sure.
Product# TBD
Too bad they’re going to be plastic garbage
What’s with the rear wheels?
Hate these RWB and tuning stuff. Looks weird and would not even buy it if I got it for a few bucks. I see lots of manufacturers and even modders do these things now. Maybe I am too old, but they sure look like s**t :-)
There is also the flip side, many who love the genius behind them. To each their own!
Cars like this merely scream “I’m 20 years old on a tight budget and I have no idea about style.”
The kits in real life are probably more than most of your cars for the RWB and Liberty walk kits. If you don’t like it that’s fine they still make multiple millions selling these kits and I’m sure there are more people that enjoy them.
Oh well, the market will decide if AA is doing the ‘right thing’………….
Let’s hope the market tells them that we’d jolly well wish they’d invest this money in the model development of the new spate of Lamborghinis, Aston Martins, and Jaguars – made in proper materials and decently priced, none of this plastic-for-$300 business.
