AUTOart Jaguar Lightweight E-Type – White

AUTOart has provided fans a first look at the production sample 1:18 Jaguar Lightweight E-Type in White.  Not the most flattering colour for this E-Type but nonetheless appealing to some.  Fingers crossed the Jaguar Lightweight E-Type will start shipping sometime in late Q2 2019.

Just got mine in gray. Totally unimpressed.

      Why? Please elaborate??

Yes- Sorry- i was rushed before. And I’ll lead off by saying that I have two of the earlier die cast series one roadsters and one of the die cast series one coupes, and I’m comparing this new Lightweight to those.
First, this new lightweight is exactly that- light, no feeling of heft- When the box came, I actually had my doubts that anything was really inside. Secondly, the paint finish, while nicely applied, looks “plasticy.” While the tires and wheels are the appropriate size, still no branding. The subframe and interior architecture/monocoque look plastic, as they are. Even the smallest amount of metal would give this some needed gravitas.
The engine is done fairly well, but again, “plasticy” I will say that I bought this at a discount, and that does take a bit of the disappointment away.

Although, I will say that from what I see, it is a very accurate model of the new “missing 6” lightweights. The body and stance are spot on, and the details are right on the mark. It is a sexy beast of a model of a sexy beast of a car.

Yes, composite is definitely a different beast. If you think this one is a lite weight you should lift their Bugatti Vision Gran Turismo! We do agree AUTOart is a yo-yo in terms of detail, up and down with each release. They definitely are not the same beast from back in the day… However, we glad they are still around.
