Photos of AUTOart’s production 1:18 McLaren MP4-30 F1 2015 were issued today from the brand. It seems as of late they are aggressively pursuing the vintage and modern racing assortment. Initial excitement is here, the depth of detail on the front wing is exceptional, but AUTOart doesn’t hit a home run with this one! The big miss here is no access to internal bits. I want to see internal workings of the car and what not… We already have Minichamps and Spark with many sealed racers, so why not go that extra mile? The McLaren MP4-30 will be on shelves sometime in late Q3 2016.

Perhaps, but we all know what is new tech today is dated the next… If AUTOart wants to charge a premium they need to offer more. Nothing new if you factor in the models offered by Minichamps or Sparks today.

Just got the model. It is an excellent model – beautifully detailed and well put together. I agree it doesn’t have a removable cover under which there is a fully plumbed engine but seriously what do you expect for GBP140, which is cheaper than the equivalent spark or minichamps model. At last we have more competition which if anything will fingers crossed, keep prices down.
