AUTOart New Releases

Team AUTOart is back this month with some new paint choices for some previously seen models.  One in particular that has been eluding many on this side of the pond is the 1:18 McLaren P1 in exterior colour Volcano Orange.  This 2018 re-issue has a few updates as well as new model number.  Updates include improved headlights accuracy, Orange calipers and carbon fibre rear spoiler.  AUTOart might have missed the overall mark on engine refinement (find the complete review by clicking the ‘Reviews’ link above), but this model in our opinion is still the best offering for collectors in 1:18 scale to date.  A must have for any supercar fan.

The remaining three models include Lamborghini Huracan GT3, in Bianco Isis/White, the DeLorean DMC-12 in Metallic Red, and finally the Lotus 3-Eleven, Green with Yellow accents.  All three in crafted in 1:18 scale.

Really cant see this so called headlight change… i have the first release of this and it looks just the same. Also carbon wing looks aweful when closed stands out like a soar thumb!!!

I really think there is a difference with the headlights. The uppper line seems thinner. I have a question for you : they discontinued the first run cuz of a paint problem. Does it shows on your first batch P1?

I thought the composite versions of the DeLorean in satin grey (79916) and in yellow (79919) was scheduled, but not this time it seems.

Not sure about the carbon wing, I like it better up than down! Also the rear bumper seems carbon now instead of orange.

Yawn! Nothing entirely new here. Time for fresh announcements at the Nuremberg Toy Fair next week. At the moment there´s hardly anything left for me to add to my collection. (Have just ordered a Sun Star Dodge Custom Royal Lancer out of pure boredom, although it´s not really my theme.)

It´s ok to exploit a mold by giving it the full variety of the original´s colours and versions, but AUTOart are somewhat riding their Deloreans to death by painting it in all sorts of colours that it never came in. I´m glad, I´ve got the original diecast in the stainless steel that was the only original “colour” it ever got.

One Delorean came out of the factory gold plated for an advertising campaign with American Express. I guess we are missing that one from Autoart LOL.

There was (or is) a ruby red Delorian btw. There was a small company that bought all parts from original production run, iirc the quanity was enough to assembly about 500 cars. And there was one ruby red in that factory, probably car owner’s special order.

I took delivery of my AutoArt McLaren P1 Volcano Orange last week and the colour & paint looks spectacular – far better than the TSM equivalent. It was worth the wait after mulling over which on to get since any P1 was announced. Bought my model from Toronto Motorsports which in my opinion has the best service, price in delivery.
