Awaking the Beast, Shelby Collectibles

Awakening the beast is what the ACME is potentially creating with the re-release of the budget-friendly Ford GT40s, “Dirty” GT40s and Shelby Cobras.  If you are not aware of the Shelby Collectibles name, the brand primarily focused on Shelby cars and executed their replicas in diecast metal with full access.  The latest release will feature the same detailing but new packaging will be present.  Suggested retail of $74.95 US.  Pretty darn good based on the current average price per model.  Look for these in early 2021.

Not a fan of their Cobras, but GT40s are quite nice indeed.
One thing, the most thing that ruins their appearance IMO is the front hood pin braces casted into the mold. Such a weird decision. Better would be no such detail at all…The ones who would like to replicate the braces and pins would make them from steel wires quite easily, but now the model is ended up with 2 extra vertical “walls” on the nose.

These are just toys; massively oversized rear brake ducts on the rear engine deck on all Gt40s , #98 did not have them, number fronts wrong on the #98 and wrong nose neon color, same mistake that Exoto made,,#2 font also wrong.

One of the few occasions on which I have deliberately gone resin and bought the Spark.
