We highlighted the early production sample back in May 2014, and today we present the near final offering of the Ferrari 126C2 G.P.San Marino – D. Pironi, and G. Villenueve car. With just a few minor tweaks from the BBR to come, this is BBR’s first entry into Ferrari Formula One racing series, and we think they have a winner! Production will be limited with both versions, the standard and premium with display. Pricing starts at roughly $440CND.
BBR New Ferrari 126C2 G.P.San Marino – 1982

This is the first BBR I am considering, since I collect F1 mostly. Does anyone know if BBR will have decals or tampos or painted graphics (like Exoto) on this model? Thanks :)
I would hope it is painted graphics considering the cost of the model!
I’m pretty curious as well. If you go into our forums and find “Pat’s Collection: Ferrari 1/18”, it looks to me that his resin Ferraris do have decals. You can see the outlines and how they “skip over” panel gaps. You can see it on some of the tires especially. But then again, take a look for yourself.

Thanks for the link to Pat’s collection thread. I had a look at the BBR Ferraris. The problem of skipped panel gaps is immediately visible on the Ferrari 458 GT3 #77 model (https://diecastsociety.com//forums/viewtopic.php?f=28&t=3794&start=15#p24893).
Frankly the decals on those Ferraris look no better than what Minichamps has.
If the Ferrari 126 models have decals than no way will I be spending €400 on them! As much as the model itself is good, I will vote with my wallet to let BBR know that decals on a €400 model is unacceptable to me. The fact that the model is sealed resin (no opening parts, no working suspension) alone makes the price eyebrow-raising, but if they had painted graphics then it would still be somewhat justifiable cost for a limited run resin model.
I agree and support you on that.
Thank you :)
On some of the other Ferraris there are more glaring flaws for example:
Ferrari 458 GT3 Blancpain Endurance Series http://nsm08.casimages.com/img/2015/01/25//1501250212505109912903957.jpg the number decal’s transparent section is not so transparent.
Ferrari 458 GT2 GTE PRO JMW Motorsport Le Mans 2012 #66 http://nsm08.casimages.com/img/2015/01/21//1501210610355109912893852.jpg the black decal on the bonnet vent is going past the vent’s edge to form a rough edge of its own.
Its a pity really. With Exoto seemingly never going to release their 126 C2 I had hoped to get BBR’s model, but I doubt that BBR will switch from decals to something else without raising their prices even more.
DeTampos isn’t possilbe on resin cars: it will break them… So all resin models (Otto, MR, Spark, BBR etc) are done wih decals.
Sometimes I use an X-Acto knife to cut them in the joint and with the use of MicroSol the job is easy…
Well here it is April 2016 and I still don’t have a clue if the new BBR 126C2 Ferrari has painted or stick on decals. I have purchased the 2 cars they have released
27 & 28 but have yet to take delivery.
I’m going to try and contact the shop again and ask if they can tell me, but irrespective they have me over a barrel because there the only quality built models to my knowledge that have released these two models. I’ve been waiting for Exoto to bring their model out for the past two years I’ve been on their wish list for that period of time and haven’t heard a word from them.
Anyway I’m hoping these two new models fill the Bill because I guess there won’t be to many more being made by any other manufacturer.
Anyhow here’s hoping their worth the $1500.00 they cost.
Chris.
these have stick on decals
Hi, and thanks Wes for telling me that. I had read were there using stick on decals due to the chemical reaction (damage) caused to the resin by the paints used to paint the decals on. But it was just hearsay from a couple of years back.
I don’t mind stick on decals but my main worry is deterioration after they have been on for awhile they crack or worse crack and peel off, so I guess I’ll learn a bit more when the cars arrive.
I believe resin is too fragile to survive the pressure of tampo printing. It’ll shatter in the process, so they have no choice but to use decals. I don’t think a resin model exists that uses tampo. Maybe only ABS? Not all is lost however. There is a liquid called Microscale Micro Gloss. It only costs a few dollars. Mask the surrounding areas and apply on the decal. It’ll form a protective layer and the decal should last much longer
