Excited for many of these new releases, but why is CMC going the Minichamps route and reissuing all these older models–in this case, the Mercedes Targo Florio winner–after so many of us had to chase down the original releases and pay, in many cases, top dollar? This seems a bit greedy to me. What’s next, reissuing the Ferrari and Maserati transporters?
Reissuing previously sold out production runs, only benefits CMC. This also devalues their brand – similar to having a set retail price, but allowing it to be discounted everywhere. CMC doesn’t appear to care about brand value or the collectors they are selling to.
Exactly. So, I guess the tags with the number the model is in each production no longer means anything.
I get releasing slightly different subjects but the same race car with the same item number?
That’s a No No CMC! Don’t upset your loyal customers!
