Our friends at Cult Scale Model have some newness to share, all executed in 1:18 scale. The feature finds the Toyota Landcruiser BJ70. This example is offered in Green and Silver. Also, new is the Mercedes-Benz 380SEC C126 in Metallic Green and the Volvo 740 Turbo Estate in Red and Silver. All are due in late January 2022.

I was looking forward to those Volvo estates, and since i myself own a 940 it hits close to home. However, sadly, something is off about those. Obvious flaw is way way oversized tires, on also a bit oversized rim which is supposed to be 15 inch. But body shape also seems not exactly right. Even tho it’s such a brick, its not hard to spot such misses. Would probably still get one, but ruin the collectors value right away by fitting more appropriately-sized wheels.
Cult Scale seems to put oversized tires in some of their models. This recurring flaw obviously ruins the otherwise good looking and finely-detailed models. Somebody from their team must check this aspect before signing off the models. These are small but very annoying errors that significantly ruin the models.
Other issues are the hood seems to be a tad short, front bumper is bit too short, the front doors while being slightly longer than rear ones, still too long compared to rears on this model.
And hard to spot from this angle correctly, but it seems that the grille top is on the same horizontal line with headlights, which was not the case on pre-facelifted 740s.
Agreed with the e above comments. Cult models choose great subject matter, but the models always end up looking like toys. Not quite right. And they aren’t cheap!
