DiecastSociety.com 2025 Model of the Year Awards – VOTE NOW!

Another year brings another round of DiecastSociety.com’s Model of the Year voting! While 2025 didn’t deliver an overwhelming number of standout releases, the year wasn’t without its surprises. If one brand deserves special recognition, it’s Norev—their dramatic leap in quality, all while keeping prices reasonable, is something rarely seen in our hobby. In fact, three of their models earned a well-deserved spot on this year’s list.

A notable shoutout also goes to the LCD Pagani Huayra R. If you managed to secure a flawless example, you’re holding one of the strongest contenders for the 2025 crown. The detail is nothing short of intoxicating.

If we missed a model that truly impressed you this year, feel free to comment below—your insights help shape the community’s conversation. Most of the entries already feature a full review or, at a minimum, a photo gallery for you to explore.

Best of luck to all the candidates, and stay tuned—we’ll announce the winner in early 2026.  Happy holidays, folks!

As always, it’s your turn to decide which models reign supreme. Each collector has 3 votes, so make them count! Be sure to check the legend below for details on vehicle types and pricing to guide your decisions.

  1. Dusan says:

    Hallo there.

I think that McLaren MP4/4 is by Premium Y is not new this year but just a re-release, since I have the same model for a longer time.

Further, you should add there Ferrari 126 CK no. 27 of J. Villeneuve made by GP Replicas in 1/18, I mean the version with removing whole top part and removing nose. So far, it was produced only from 1981 GP Monaco , but other two race versions should come, and all the versions should come also with driver figurine.

You also forgotten Honda Civic EK9 by MotorHelix in 1/18. It was done in several version, the best one, n opinion, is the Mugen version

    • DS Team says:

Hi, thanks for the feedback. We actually had the GPR model on the list, but we were under the impression it did not hit the market. We’ll add it to the list.

  2. Rick says:

Out of all the cars that have come out this year, not a single one I would vote for is on the list.. lol!

  3. Tippertruck says:

Are these models worth an addition to this year’s list?

    1:18 AUTOart McLaren F1 MP4/6 1991
    1:18 MotorHelix Honda Integra Type R (DC2)

In the past, I believe the AUTOart McLaren F1 MP4/6 1991 would have been in the Signature line up, as the model is pretty detailed.

The MH Honda Integra Type R is pretty well executed as well IMHO.

    • DS Team says:

Yes, however, neither made the short list. The AUTOart McLaren F1 MP4/6 1991 has seen many iterations over the years – and they have two solid models listed in the 2025 list.

    • salociN says:

Same here, the model I would have vote for.
The iconic MP4/4 was already produced by three manufacturers (even Lego :D), so this is a quite bad argument.

And what about the two GT500 (or three Mustang) on the list this year ? Maybe consider the MP4/6 instead the AUTOart GT500…

I also noticed only two racecars this year, and no rally car as usual :-/

  4. ED says:

    I would add Motorhelix Nissan GT-R R35 T Spec.

  5. Bob says:

I think the Martisan 250 GTO deserves a spot on the list!

  6. Kedi lee says:

I think the Norev – Porsche 718 Spyder RS WP has the best value for money.

  7. Tomcatters says:

I just realized this is the first time in years, maybe ever, I didn’t buy a single model from the list.

Where I bought several models per month in the past, I can probably count the models I purchased in 1:18 this year on one, maybe two hands.

This hobby has just become incredibly expensive and so many “new” releases just seem like variations of models we already have. It’s a nice of a shame.

Of course there’s are still very nice and New models around, not denying that. But 2 years ago it seemed a lot more exciting and diverse in terms of New releases.

Why did I share this? Idk. But it just crossed my mind lol

  8. DiecastLover says:

Every car I voted for I opted to purchase. Glad I did, the 718 Spyder is in a category higher than it’s price range. I’ve collected Norev since the early 00s and it’s wonderful to see how far they’ve come. Keep it up Norev we 💖 you! Shout-out to NZG for the Passat R Wagon, so thankful you brought this gem to 1/18 in actual diecast. Please bring us R32 Same gen ☺️

  9. Thomas says:

DS Team you should check the bots… the GP Replicas Ferrari 126 has received more than 400 fake votes in the last 24h hours…

  10. EDUARDO BUDAN says:

I think there have been exceptional good models this year unfortunately you have a problem with MakeUp Japan but their Mazda Vision Coupe is a one of a kind beauty, in fact any big 1/18 Make Up is usually outstanding.

MR Collection made beautiful ones like Bugatti Chiron Profilee, the Ferraris 12 Cilindri, the Lambo Temerario in launch spec….yes all expensive italian made models….

In the budget category GT Spirit Gemera in metallic green was a superb addition for 1/4 of Frontiart prices….

Perhaps the big hole in 2025 that no one fill was the small number of Autoart fresh new releases… there was nothing brilliant from them in all 2025……
