This vehicle has already been done….. how about a first generation Lightning, or an SRT10 Ram, or a GMC typhoon or syclone….. give us something NEW!!!!!
You have a point with those and I think those should be made as well. However, I do respectfully disagree that this one has been done, as I don’t count that garbage Bburago/maisto 1:22 scale that they came out with. It’s totally out of place and not displayable with any other 1:18 models.
I think sometime about 15 years ago, someone should’ve bought the rights to the old ERTL F-150 mold (a true 1:18 model and not 1:22 or 1:23 scale), use the parts bin from the Harley Davidson extra cab truck on the regular cab chassis to create a true and tried 1:18 F-150 lightning.
But back to this DNA Collectable model.. although DNA doesn’t make cars with opening doors, this one should be more displayable with actual 1:18 cars (if true to scale).
We would agree.
You’re right, the Maisto/Bburago version is not to scale but it still displays well! I do agree however with the Ertl version would’ve be awesome! That would be cool! Hopefully DNA does the Lightning in the blue or grey!!! Just tired of the manufacturer’s producing the same cars!! How many GT-R’s, Ferrari’s, Lamborghinis do we need!! There are sooo many more different vehicles that can be made!! Hell we still don’t have a proper C6 ZR1 corvette…. just the Jada toy!!!!
I agree with you, but unfortunately, you and I are probably in the minority of the 1:18 world. I would love something ordinary actually, as I like collecting cars that I see (or use to see) driving every day! There’s a certain nostalgia to that that is more powerful than all super cars combined, in my opinion. It’s funny how in the 1:18 world, a Lamborghini is sort of like a Toyota Corolla in real life.. extremely plentiful! Just like how many people feel that car may be bland, I feel like 1:18 Super/Hypers can give off that same effect for the hobby as well.
But I think of myself as someone who likes cars period. I think all cars are cool, but I think cars should only be produced once or twice, even cars that I love, so I don’t understand why everybody has to make a billion Lamborghini Huracan and Gallardo models, or Mercedes G-Class. One is enough for me, I’ll take the $12.99 Maisto model (or if not available, the $50 Welly one) and call it a day! But hey, if you want to spend hundreds of dollars on something that that you can get from 10 different companies from $15-$500, go ahead!
Well said!!! Over the years I’ve sold off most of my collection and now just focus on American sports, muscle and race cars, but there are so many legendary cars not produced!! I love Exotics but the hobby has gotten to expensive!!
I understand that Ferraris and Lamborghinis sell. But there are still so many Ferrari cars (especially the recent ones that are not made in 1:18 diecast metal with opening parts): SF90 Stradale, Roma, F8 Tributo, GTC4Lusso, Portofino, 812 Superfast…. (I think only the SP1 Monza is made in diecast and by guess it… by Bburago). Also, there are Lamborghinis not made in 1:18 yet: Silhouette, Jalpa, Islero, Cala, Bravo, Athon… I am sure that these would sell also.
Your right!! Bburago is not doing justice to the hobby with having the rights to the brand!!!
