First Look: GT Spirit Future Releases

We promised to share photos of the recent August/September new releases from GT Spirit, and we made good on that promise.  We have the first official look at the new 1:8 scale Ferrari F40.  This thing is massive! Though we don’t like the massive piece of plastic on the rear.  In 1:18 scale we have photos of the ABT RS4-R 2019, Mercedes-Maybach S650 2019, Audi RS5 Sportback 2019 and the Lamborghini Cheetah.  Wow, what an array of cars!  We’ll share more as they become available.  Enjoy!

Great! Any news about 1:8 Countach?.. can’t find any info about though except here

  2. Miguel Oliveira says:

The front of the F40 looks strange.

But GT Spirit nail it again with the models choise!! :-)

  3. Nero says:

Got the Aventador & Huracan from Pocher 1:8 scale and want more, but sealed?? Depends of the price..

Im waiting for the release of the agostini full kit LaFerrari 1:8, about 1000€..

What is more, Agostini got the F40 Competizione with openings, maybe this GTS is a little bit nonsense

1:8 scale just means you can see where GT Spirit messed up the shape at twice the size, and they still can’t make the corners sharp enough.

Even on something that big, the paint looks far too thick. The 1:1 had very thin paint, you could see the carbon weave through it.

And I’m not even going to mention those shiny-shiny wheels.

  5. MLB says:

F40 has poor detail for a big 1:8 model, plus flaws & mistakes.

  6. David Carter says:

Nero: I have built the LaFerrari-the remote door opener worked great-for about a month- then stopped working, not a very good design. Overall the quality is about average for these big kits.

  7. David Carter says:

It’s hard to tell if the window and windshield trims are photoetch or painted on !!??!!!!

  8. David G says:

How on earth could you build an F40 on this scale and NOT have actual mesh at the rear!? That’s like a topless bar with fully dressed women. It’s one of the most sexy parts of the design. Why would one leave that out!? How? Have they actually seen a real F40 in the flesh??
It just looks like a model where the larger scale doesn’t actually add anything. It just enlarges parts without actually adding more detail to it. Probably a nice score for starting/young collectors that do not have developed high demands… It should not cost a lot, otherwise a good 1/18 Kyosho beats it on all accounts…

I really hope they make a 1:18 Gemballa Mirage GT one day!
