FIRST LOOK: High Performance Diecast Confirms McLaren 765LT

McLaren fans will have another manufacture option in scale, coming from High Performance Diecast is the 1:18 McLaren 765LT.  Not for nothing but there are so many supercars not yet executed in 1:18, why don’t we go there first?  Create some serious buzz in the community too.  If you’re interested in the McLaren 765LT, the release date is possibly late 2022, early 2023.  Good luck High Performance Diecast!

Yes, as much as I love McLarens and Lamborghinis, I agree that it would be nice to see something new for a change.

Don’t you dare say such things man, did you see what happened with me few weeks ago when I mentioned this about Lambo and Autoart?! I strongly agree with what you’re saying tho, let’s hope the mods won’t take my comment too seriously, I don’t wanna get banned guys I love your site haha

P.S. I think the hobby needs more aventadors, there aren’t enough of them out there and PLEASE make them sealed also out of lego plastic and 500$ + price tag, cos I don’t want the mere plebeians to own them, diecast and normal prices are so 2016 :D

      • DS Team says:

Please don’t take your situation out of context. There is no harm in suggesting manufacturers try something new. In your case, you were condensing nothing more. And this situation is slightly different than AUTOart too, if you recognize the history of the HPD you would understand their short and shaky history thus far. In short, they need to win the confidence of the community, announcing a new McLaren isn’t new. They need to think outside the box… And adding release as 2022 or 2023 isn’t helping their chances either.

  2. Pi Liu says:

I like it and want to buy it.

  3. Wes says:

    High performance diecast???

First they promise a koenigsegg for 3 years and disappear, and now out of the blue they’re “back” promising something else.

  4. Andrew says:

Agree… doubt it will see the light of day just like the Egg

  5. Anthony White says:

If this model has all openings and looks great I would welcome it

  6. spikyone says:

As far as I know the only version of this in 1/18 is by GT Spirit, so it’s a little harsh to question why someone else is making it.
I’ve given up looking at GT Spirit stuff entirely, every time they announce something that might interest me, I’m left disappointed that they’ve got the shape noticeably wrong or it looks a bit toy-like – their 765LT falls into the latter group.

Not commenting on whether this new announcement is any more than vapourware, but I’d definitely be interested in a good model of the 765LT.

    • DS Team says:

Nothing against the McLaren. This brand is new, to date, they have overpromised and underdelivered. Most likely by the time this car comes to production, it will be covered by 2-3 other brands… Focus on something new, confirm with collectors you can execute and build from there. Quite simple.

      • spikyone says:

I understand the criticism that they’re under-delivering, and I don’t disagree. But you said “there are so many supercars not yet executed in 1:18, why don’t we go there first?” when, so far, the 765LT has only been manufactured by one other company, who didn’t do a particularly good job anyway. If they’d announced yet another 911 then you’d have a point. For a car where there’s currently no decent model available that criticism doesn’t hold water.

        • DS Team says:

Let’s agree to disagree. But mark these words there will be a couple of more of these 765LT’s before this one comes to production. Crossing fingers we’re wrong!

          • spikyone says:

I definitely hope to see more. The GTS is simply not good enough to justify my money, I’d rather not have one than spend on something that looks like a toy. If anyone can put out a decent version I’d definitely buy it. AutoArt’s 720S is a really impressive model, if they made the 765LT in the right colour I’d be happy to add one alongside it.
